DU, Plus two degrees & septic truck

12:51 24/09/2007

We are blisfully unaware of something called Depleted Uranium as it does not happen here. but more and more DU is let out into the atmosphere it gets everwhere, may be Bristol too.

"United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) "self initiated" a Report warning the government that if fifty tonnes of the residual dust, from the explosions of the weapons on impact, was left "in the region", they estimated it would generate "half a million" extra cancer deaths by the end of the century (2000.)"

AND

"Further, "depleted" is a misnomer. These weapons are made from waste from the nuclear fuel cycle and thus contain the whole lethal nuclear cocktail. DU weapons (sold to seventeen countries that are known and possibly others - why let poisoning the planet and its population get in the way of numerous millions of quick bucks) are equivalent to spreading the contents of a nuclear reactor around the globe."

AND

"In Bosnia and the former Yugoslavia where DU weapons were used (with missiles also dropped accidentally in neighbouring countries, by the US, to whom all the world's lives are seemingly cheap) the "Iraq Syndrome" became quickly apparent.
Even European peacekeepers on relatively short tours of duty became ill, developed leukaemia’s and other cancers and a number died. A five man film crew from BBC Scotland all tested DU positive after filming for less than a week there."

"Plus two degrees: the consequences

Arica: Between 350 and 600 million people will suffer water shortages or increased competition for water. Yields from agriculture could fall by half by 2020 while arid areas will rise by up to 8 per cent. The number of sub-Saharan species at risk of extinction will rise by at least 10 per cent.

Asia: Up to a billion people will suffer water shortages as supplies dwindle with the melting of Himalayan glaciers. Maize and wheat yields will fall by up to 5 per cent in India; rice crops in China will drop by up to 12 per cent. Increased risk of coastal flooding.

Australia/New Zealand: Between 3,000 and 5,000 more heat-related deaths a year. Water supplies will no longer be guaranteed in parts of southern and eastern Australia by 2030. Annual bleaching of the Great Barrier Reef.

Europe: Warmer temperatures will increase wheat yields by up to 25 per cent in the north but water availability will drop in the south by up to a quarter. Heatwaves, forest fires and extreme weather events such as flash floods will be more frequent. New diseases will appear.

Latin America: Up to 77 million people will face water shortages and tropical glaciers will disappear. Tropical forests will become savanna and there will be increased risk of coastal flooding in low-lying areas such as El Salvador and Guyana.
North America: Crop yields will increase by up to 20 per cent due to warmer temperatures but economic damage from extreme weather events such as Hurricane Katrina will continue increasing.

Polar regions: The seasonal thaw of permafrost will increase by 15 per cent and the overall extent of the permafrost will shrink by about 20 per cent. Indigenous communities such as the Inuit face loss of traditional lifestyle.

Small islands: Low-lying islands are particularly vulnerable to rising sea levels with the Maldives already suffering land loss."

"And then—not that it matters to amnesiac Americans—the Reagan administration sold arms to Iran during the so-called Iran-Contra scandal, with Israel acting as a middle man and facilitator, a blatant violation of the Arms Export Control Act. Interestingly, the fanatical neocon Iran hater, Michael Ledeen, who now calls for mass murdering Iranian school children, played an instrumental role in these illegal transactions. Instead of spending his golden years in federal prison, Ledeen works for the American Enterprise Institute, where he calls for killing Iranians in broken record fashion."

"During an eight-hour working day, U.S. tax dollars spent in the battle zones of Iraq total $112 million. These figures are extrapolated from a report by the Congressional Research Service (CSR), a bipartisan agency which provides research and analysis for the U.S. Congress. It put the war's average cost in 2007 at around $10 billion a month.
That translates into $333 million a day, $14 million an hour, $231,000 a minute and $3,850 a second. Even for the world's richest country, this is serious money."

"More than 180,000 Americans, Iraqis, and nationals from other countries work under a slew of federal contracts to provide security, gather intelligence, build roads, forge a financial system, and transport needed supplies in a country the size of California.

That figure contrasts with the 163,100 U.S. military personnel, according to U.S. Central Command in Tampa, Fla., the organization responsible for military operations in the Middle East. The Pentagon puts the military figure at 169,000. There are another 12,400 coalition forces in Iraq."

and

"According to Central Command, there are 137,000 contractors working in Iraq under Defense Department contracts and almost half of those are Iraqis. More than 22,000 are U.S. citizens and the remainder hail from other countries. Close to 7,300 are security workers."

"Fog Fact:
The counterinsurgency manual recommends a force ratio of between 20 and 25 troops per 1,000 in the population.
The math is very simple. The current estimated population of Iraq is 27,500,000.
The proper size of a counterinsurgency force is therefore a minimum of 550,000, more comfortable at 687,500.
Right now, at the peak of the surge, there are about 169,000 coalition troops (92 percent U.S.) in Iraq. That's 381,000 short of the minimum. Or 506,000 short of the more ideal ratio."

The Bush's world.
"Consider this: In 2000, when Bush took office, gold was $273 per ounce, oil was $22 per barrel and the euro was worth $.87 per dollar. Currently, gold is over $700 per ounce, oil is over $80 per barrel, and the euro is nearly $1.40 per dollar. If Bernanke cuts rates, we’re likely to see oil at $125 per barrel by next spring. Inflation is soaring. The government statistics are thoroughly bogus. Gold, oil and the euro don’t lie. According to economist Martin Feldstein, “The falling dollar and rising food prices caused market-based consumer prices to rise by 4.6% in the most recent quarter.” (WSJ)
That’s 18.4% per year---and yet, Bernanke is still considering cutting interest rates and further fueling inflation?!?"

Liquidity analysis provides a ready answer.” (Asia Times)

“Market capitalization zoomed from $5.3 trillion to $35 trillion in 12 years?!?
Why? Was it due to growth in market-share, business expansion or productivity?
No. It was because there were more dollars chasing the same number of securities; hence, inflation."

I think Bush wants a proper mess in the financial state in the world so that the shock of it to the people can be made use for the neo-cons agenda. First shock the people and in the chaos which occurs the law can be easily changed. Just like he did after 11th Sept do-da. The Uk Blair government did the same in criminal justice bill. All over the world the law has been changed to suit the police state. We watch!

"In the "10 easy steps" outlined by Wolf, countries move from open to closed and repressive societies by devolving past certain markers, and Wolf makes a powerful case for the way in which the United States is following a similar pattern without any significant deviation. In each instance she compares and contrasts how America's adherence to the pattern compares or contrasts with the pattern in pre-World War II Germany.

The 10 steps are:

Invoking an external and internal threat Establishing secret prisons Developing a paramilitary force Surveiling ordinary citizens Infiltrating citizens' groups Arbitrarily detaining and releasing citizens Targeting key individuals Restricting the press Casting criticism as "espionage" and dissent as "treason" Subverting the rule of law"

That was the bill that erased the fourth amendment and legalized unconstitutional spying. When they get around to the "Love, Harmony, and Joy" Act, you can be sure we're all about to be killed.
The second option, as they see it, is to pass bills and have them vetoed. Of course they know in advance that it's all theater, that their bills are destined to be vetoed, but they view their whole job as an election campaign, and they don't think the public will catch on to what they're doing."

On the same subject Northern Rock lent money without having enough capitol in the bank. A total of £200 billion was in the mortgage books. NR needed £4 to £5 billion for the customers when they came for the money. So as the bank's business model is flowed the tax payer had to come out with the money. Why? If I lent you some money and you run away then will the law courts try to get the money back. They will ask how come you lent the money without a proper collateral? This does not make sense. I am not surprised to learn this morning that Brown is going to have a snap election in Oct. 25th; looks like they want to win an election before things get worse.

In Afghanistan people from US donated a Sceptic truck.
This is what happned:
"The new waste incinerator donated by the U.S. government is completely useless. Even if the hospital had been trained how to run it, they can't afford the fuel.
“It’s not used very often … at all,” he said.
It was a gift from the American people.
“Isn’t that nice?” Warner said.
Warner is a public health expert from San Diego who's taken it upon himself to do what no one else in Afghanistan seems to be doing - documenting the failures in reconstruction. He says the system can't be fixed unless those responsible first admit that it's broken.
But it's a hard sell, as Warner discovered when he tried to report his findings to officials at the Pentagon.
“I was brought aside and they told me, ‘Don't tell that story.’
I said ‘Why not?’
And they said ‘Well, this is one of our success stories,’” he said.
A success story that quickly turned to disappointment for the hospital when they discovered that a septic truck donated by the U.S. with brand new tires and a new coat of paint wasn't new at all. In fact, it's at least 60 years old and starts up with a crank."

Iraq Museums, Sunni Shia Divide, & CIA.s Failures

10:32 21/09/2007

In 1991 Gulf war US attacked the Southern Provinces of Iraq and left the rest of the country as W Bush did not want a regime change and the international objections were great. But during that time 13 museums and libraries in the Southern states were looted and lots of antiques and books were lost. Then in 2003 after US and its cohorts attacked whole of Iraq the looters had a field day in everything valuable in government buildings even the armoury stores. Lebanese archaeologist Joanne Farchakh says:

"They systematically destroyed the remains of this civilisation in their tireless search for sellable artefacts: ancient cities, covering an estimated surface area of 20 square kilometres, which – if properly excavated – could have provided extensive new information concerning the development of the human race.

"Humankind is losing its past for a cuneiform tablet or a sculpture or piece of jewellery that the dealer buys and pays for in cash in a country devastated by war. Humankind is losing its history for the pleasure of private collectors living safely in their luxurious houses and ordering specific objects for their collection."

During the aftermath of the original Shock and Awe D Rumsfeld said, when he was told about the looting of the museums, "Stuff happens". He and the rest of the US military insists that they did not expect that to happen. But they knew that in 1991 it was what happened .... stuff or is it shit?

".....The U.S. is funding Sunni militias. They already funded the Shia militias. They're now funding all sides of this sectarian war...."

AND

"RR: It's an easy way to produce immediate statistical successes on the ground, a decrease in attacks on American soldiers. And this is a long-term strategy. Petraeus came in with Negroponte with the so-called "Salvador Option" for Iraq, arming death squads to kill insurgents as the Reagan administration did in the 1980s in El Salvador. In 2004 he incorporated all of the Shia militias into the Iraqi security forces and basically created Shia death squads and secret torture prisons we've all heard stories of. Now they're funding Sunni militias and Sunni death squads"

Hmmmm And:

"KH: How has the media been picking up your story?

RR: It's on Al Jazeera English, which 65 million households see. And internationally, reports have picked up on the story from there. But in the States, it's only been picked up by outlets like Democracy Now! and the Pacifica stations. There's a lot of noise now, everyone's talking. When Iranian revolutionaries seized the US embassy in Tehran they were shocked to discover the CIA man they captured there didn't even speak Persian.
And those two failures join a long list. The CIA didn't foresee the explosion of an atom bomb by the Soviet Union in 1949, the invasion of South Korea in 1950, the popular uprisings in Eastern Europe in the 1950s, the installation of Soviet missiles in Cuba in 1962, the Arab-Israeli war of 1973, the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in 1979, the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1989, Iraq's invasion of Kuwait in 1990 or the explosion of an atom bomb by India in 1998. By the time they made the wrong call on Iraq's weapons of mass destruction it's surprising anyone believed them."

"In the United States, blacks convicted of killing whites are not only more likely than other killers to get a death sentence—they’re also likelier to actually be executed, a new study suggests.

The chances of being condemned and of being put to death are quite different, as “less than 10 percent of those given the death sentence ever get executed,” said David Jacobs, co-author of the study. Most of the others have their sentences overturned on appeal, he explained."

AND

"The study also reinforced previous findings by Jacobs that the likelihood of a legal death penalty was greater in states with higher proportions of black residents, an ideologically more conservative population, and in states where there was greater support for Republican candidates.

In the new research, Jacobs found that execution probabilities increase in states along with the population of African Americans, up to a point. But when the population of blacks reaches about 16 percent of the population, executions start to decrease. Probably at that point, African-Americans have enough votes and political influence within a state to reduce the number of executions, Jacobs said."

"Indeed, according to Israeli government figures, some 750,000 Israeli Jews (15% of Israel's Jewish population) are now living abroad, further undermining the Zionist premise that the Diaspora is an innately hostile and anti-Semitic place.

Actually, Mr. Shepherd, I'd be more inclined to pin the racist label on anyone who conflates the world's 13 million Jews with a country in which 8.2 million of them -- almost two thirds -- have chosen not to live.

Increasingly anxious that most of us have no intention of going to Israel to boost Jewish numbers, the Israel-based Jewish Agency -- apparently oblivious to the irony of its own actions -- has complained to Germany over official policies that make life there so attractive to Jewish immigrants from former Soviet territories, thus discouraging them from going to Israel."

Israel economy is booming. How?

"Here's another theory. Israel's economy isn't booming despite the political chaos that devours the headlines but because of it. This phase of development dates back to the mid-90s, when the country was in the vanguard of the information revolution - the most tech-dependent economy in the world. After the dotcom bubble burst in 2000, Israel's economy was devastated, facing its worst year since 1953. Then came 9/11, and suddenly new profit vistas opened up for any company that claimed it could spot terrorists in crowds, seal borders from attack, and extract confessions from closed-mouthed prisoners.

Within three years, large parts of Israel's tech economy had been radically repurposed. Put in Friedmanesque terms, Israel went from inventing the networking tools of the "flat world" to selling fences to an apartheid planet. Many of the country's most successful entrepreneurs are using Israel's status as a fortressed state, surrounded by furious enemies, as a kind of 24-hour-a-day showroom, a living example of how to enjoy relative safety amid constant war. And the reason Israel is now enjoying supergrowth is that those companies are busily exporting that model to the world.

Discussions of Israel's military trade usually focus on the flow of weapons into the country - US-made Caterpillar bulldozers used to destroy homes in the West Bank, and British companies supplying parts for F-16s. Overlooked is Israel's huge and expanding export business. Israel now sends $1.2bn in "defence" products to the United States - up dramatically from $270m in 1999. In 2006, Israel exported $3.4bn in defence products - well over a billion more than it received in American military aid. That makes Israel the fourth largest arms dealer in the world, overtaking Britain."

Canada's Dirty Secret

Do you know anything about Tar Sands?

In Canada there is an area called Alberta. This is more than 140,000 square kilometers of relatively pristine boreal forest. Underneath this there is 1.7 trillion barrels of Tar Sands. Out of that only 174 million barrels can be extracted with the present day technology. Tar sands consist of a mixture of 85 percent sand, clay, and silt; 5 percent water; and 10 percent crude bitumen, the tarlike substance that can be converted to oil. Now this bitumen does not flow like crude oil. It is like roofing tar. To get it out you have to inject high pressure super heated water to wash the tar out of the sand and drag it out.

First there is the forest then the top soil then you strip mine. Four tons of material has to be shifted to make a barrel of bitumen. Do the maths: To take 174 million barrels of the shit you have to move 896 million tons of the forest material. There are three mines operating at the moment, some as large as 150 sq KM and 90 meters deep. To put into a perspective you can fill 60,000- seat stadium from two days cleared material.

The bitumen is diluted with naphtha and pipelined to refineries where it is upgraded from low grade to high by adding hydrogen or taking out carbon. This is very energy-intensive process. Then it is refined into transportable fuels. Now this energy is derived from the gas which comes out in these areas. Of course it is comes out of the ground freely. But when you burn it it gives the green house effecting gases. To make three barrels of oil it is required the energy equivalent of one barrel of oil. Do the maths. That is it produces three times that of producing conventional oil.
Canada is a signatory of Kyoto Protocol and is suppsed to reduce the emmissions in 1990 levels by 6% by 2012. But due to Tar Sands mining it has gone up by 25.3%. And even exceeded the US 16.3% increase.

The boreal forest we are talking about is quarter of the world's remaining forests. There are bears, wolves, lynx and some of the largest caribou left in the world. Then there are 30% of songbirds in North America, and 40% of its waterfowl. At the currently planned projects there will be 3,000 sq KM will be cleared, drained and strip mined, with out of the remaining 137,000 sq KM there will be a spider web of seismic lines, roads, pipelines and well pads with the rest of the industrial developement and towns and cities. UN's Environement Program has designated this as a 'hotspot' of degradation.

The Athabasta River is 1,500 KM long. It starts from Athabasta Glacier in Jasper National Park and ends in Lake Athabasta in Wood Buffalo National Park. When it comes into the lake it forms a delta called Peace-Athabasta Delta, a World Heritage Site. which is the largest boreal delta in the world, and a water fowl nesting and staging area. It passes directly through the mining areas and the water from the river is taken out for mining. For tar sand mining operations 2 to 4.5 barrels of water is used to make one barrel of bitumen. That is 349 million cubic meters of water per year. This water after use cannot be put back in the river as it is so contaminated and it is impounded.

Some of the drill holes are situated away from the river and the mines use the ground water. Though the water used can be recycled to desolve the bitumen underground not all the water comes out when extracted. About half a barrel of water is lost per barrel of bitumen. So these freshwater aquefiers have reduce the ground water levels and the mines have switched to deeper salty water sources. As they want fresh water they take the salinity out of this salty water and leave large amounts of waste sludge which has to be desposed of.

The waste water is collected and desposed into landfills or injected underground. Then there is something called mine tailings, which is a slurry of water., sand, fine clay and residual bitumen. These are collected in wastewater resovoirs, called tailing ponds. They are sometimes 50 sq KM and can be seen from the space sattellites.

Naphthenic acid which is a by-product of the process is 100 times more that the natural levels in these areas. It is poisonous to all birds and mammals. Birds are better off as scarecrows floating on barrels and prpane gas cannons going off at regular intervals scare them off the poluted area. But they do seep into the ground water and leeks happen in the dams. These ponds puke out benzene into the atmosphere.
The air pollution is increased by the Criteria Air Contaminants, which when at home is nitrogen oxides, sulphur dioxide and particulate matter.

Royal Dutch/Shell, ExxonMobil, ChevronTexaco, TotalFina, Norway's Statoil and China's Sinopecare lining up to have some action in this blacl gold. In 1995 US$ 9 billion went into the tar sand mining as investment and more than US$ 100 billion is set up for developement between 2006 and 2015.

Is it true that Bush is trying his best to get Iran to attack US forces? Then why is the poodle's second in command trying to get us in the same boat. This is a proxy war against Iran in a way just like what happened to the Navy boat. Luckily it was solved deplomatically.

"Mr Brown, who will make a statement to MPs early next month on the situation in Iraq, is facing calls to announce that the whole of Basra province is being handed over to Iraqi security authorities.

The Government has been at pains to stress its independence from American commanders when making decisions about troop deployment. Britain last week withdrew its remaining 550 troops from Basra Palace in the centre of the city to join 5,000 soldiers in what was termed an "overwatch" role at Basra airbase."

Yep take 550 men out of Basra and say we are taking men out of the troubles and put 350 of them into the border with Iran. Good on you Brown and Browne.

From: Brown faces domestic pressure over 'proxy war'

"US-Iranian tensions have mounted significantly in the past few days, with heightened rhetoric on both sides and the US decision to establish a military base in Iraq less than five miles from the Iranian border to block the smuggling of Iranian arms to Shia militias.
The involvement of a few hundred British troops in the anti-smuggling operation also raises the risk of their involvement in a cross-border clash. "

Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Hear Ye! The Russians have made the "Dad of all bombs" which is four times more powerful that the US's "mother of all bombs". Well we can have kids from this couple starting from "Chinkie of all bombs", "Paki of all bombs" etc etc init?

"Russian bomb contains 7.8 tons of high explosives compared to more than 8 tons of explosives in the U.S. bomb, it’s four times more powerful because it uses a new, highly efficient type of explosives that the report didn’t identify.
While the U.S. bomb is equivalent to 11 tons of TNT, the Russian one is equivalent to 44 tons of regular explosives. The Russian weapon’s blast radius is 990 feet, twice as big as that of the U.S. design, the report said."

The Us economy is tumbling down.

"In August jobs in goods-producing industries declined by 64,000. The US economy lost 4,000 jobs overall. The private sector created a mere 24,000 jobs, all of which could be attributed to the 24,100 new jobs for waitresses and bartenders. The government sector lost 28,000 jobs."

"The unemployment rate held steady, but that is because 340,000 Americans unable to find jobs dropped out of the labor force in August. The US measures unemployment only among the active work force, which includes those seeking jobs. Those who are discouraged and have given up are not counted as unemployed."

I wonder how this happens Say 340,000 Americans have stopped looking for jobs. They do not have jobs. So if they do not get any state benefits how do they exist? If they do get state benefits why are they not counted as unemployed. Something is funny here???? I got to write to the authour of this article and find out why. His email addy is

"The US now has a trade deficit with every part of the world. In 2006 (the latest annual data), the US had a trade deficit totaling $838,271,000,000.
The US trade deficit with Europe was $142,538,000,000.
With Canada the deficit was $75,085,000,000.
With Latin America it was $112,579,000,000 (of which $67,303,000,000 was with mexico). The deficit with Asia and Pacific was $409,765,000,000 (of which $233,087,000,000 was with China and $90,966,000,000 was with Japan).
With the Middle East the deficit was $36,112,000,000, and with Africa the US trade deficit was $62,192,000,000."

"The United States of America, its President, and the President’s CIA and its military are all above the law – all laws, anywhere, including its own laws.
The 1989 invasion of Panama to arrest and remove its President, who had for seventeen years worked for the CIA, code named “Just Cause” in which by U.S. Army estimate, a least a thousand lives were lost is a good example.
The Organization of American States Charter, to which the US is a signatory and party, prohibits members from invading other members for any reason. The United States ratified the Charter of the OAS in 1948. Under the U.S. Constitution, Article VI, treaties ratified by the U.S. are among the supreme law of the land of the U.S.
The General Assembly of the United Nations voted 75–20 with 40 abstentions to condemn the invasion as a "flagrant violation of international law.” A Security Council resolution condemning the invasion was vetoed by the United States."

"Critically exploring whether or not there was a covert attempt to instigate a catastrophic nuclear war against Iran is illuminated through an introduction using the recent B-52 Incident. On August 30, a B-52 bomber armed with five nuclear-tipped Advanced Cruise missiles travelled from Minot Air Force base, North Dakota, to Barksdale Air Force base, Louisiana, in the United States. Each missile had an adjustable yield between five and 150 kilotons of TNT which is at the lower end of the destructive capacities of U.S. nuclear weapons. For example, the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima had a yield of 13 kilotons, while the Bravo Hydrogen bomb test of 1954 had a yield of 15,000 kilotons. The B-52 story was first covered in the Army Times on 5 September after the nuclear armed aircraft was discovered by Airmen.

Gay - Transgenders, Christian Dominionists & Re-using "Lightly" Contaminated Radioactive Waste

14:22 14/09/2007

I was informed by the alternet newsletter this:

"Dear Reader,
I was pretty shocked to understand that laws against discrimination based on race, gender, religion, national origin, and disability don't account for sexual orientation. Americans can still be legally fired in 31 states just for being gay - and 39 states just for being transgender. This must be changed. As the Employment Non-Discrimination Act goes before The House, please let The Human Rights Campaign know where you stand.

"IPS: What is it about the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs that has made it a breeding ground for Christian Dominionists?

MW: Well, first we thought it was that there was this nexus of what I refer to as the "Protestant Vatican" -- in fact many people refer to it as that. Colorado Springs has over 100 of this nation's largest evangelical fundamentalist Christian organisations centred right there for some reason. Just like a moth to a flame these organisations have been attracted there. That was our initial theory before we found out that this imperious contagion of constitutional triumphalism, this fanatical Dominionist Christianity had swept like a tsunami all the way through all 737 US military installations that the Pentagon admits that we have -- but it's really closer to a thousand -- in 132 countries around the world. Seventy of those are in Europe of and 11 of those house nuclear weapons."

"The Pentagon declined to comment on whether the missiles were carrying nuclear warheads, citing a long-standing policy on discussing nuclear weapons, but said the US public was never in any danger.
Army Times said it was not discovered that the weapons - advanced cruise missiles that have nuclear warheads with yields ranging from five to 150 kilotons - were missing until theB-52 landed at Barksdaleair force base in Louisiana."

Hey I am not a pundit in financial things. I can't even balance me own budget. But I been reading about the housing market in US and here in UK. In US it has spiralled down to the level of 11th of September in 2001. Most of the pundits are talking about the slump and going on and on what everyone from Greenspan to Bush said, is saying, done, and is doing; but they don't say the crucial fact. That is, all this fuck up is due to the Iraq war. US made enemies of China, Venezuela, Iran etc while spending lots of taxpayers' money on the war machine. Everyone who made money out of the war has not paid any tax on it. So ..... hmmmm... I wait for the down fall of this corrupt US system with a large grin on me face.

Good article if you can understand the bloody thing:

"At the Ilulissat Icefjord, 250km north of the Arctic Circle, the advance of the glacier into the sea is now visible to the naked eye. "It's moving toward the sea at a rate of two metres an hour," said Professor Correll. "It's exuding like toothpaste, moving towards us at 15 kilometres per year.""

AND

"Predictions made by the Arctic Council, a working group of regional scientists, have been hopelessly overrun by the extent of the thaw. "Five years ago we made models predicting how much ice would melt and when," said Mr Vallio. "Five years later we are already at the levels predicted for 2040, in a year's time we'll be at 2050.""

"In the north of Sweden, mean temperatures have risen above zero for the first time on record. Professor Terry Callaghan has been working in the remote north of the country at a research station which has been taking continuous readings for the past 100 years. His recent findings tally with the accelerating pace of change elsewhere.
"Mean temperatures have remained below zero here since medieval times," said Professor Callaghan. "Now, over the past 10 years we have exceeded zero, the mark at which ice turns to water." Professor Correll said: "We are looking at a very different planet than the one we are used to.""

"We are living in a world where US$ 9 billion is adequate to ensure safe water for everybody in the world but where millions die every year because of unclean water. The same world spends more than US$900 billion for war and armaments every year, i.e., hundred times the money required to create a safe world; share of the US in these destructive expenditure is more than 60 per cent."

The way of the World Bank and IMF.

a) dismantling public institutions and public enterprises that deprives people but give immense authority to big business,
(b) removing all supports and protection for local industries and agriculture by liberalizing imports,
(c) supporting export oriented activities to meet the needs of western market by supplying cheap product at the expense of economy and environment,
(d) withdrawing state's responsibility of providing health care and education for the people,
(e) raising prices of fuel, gas, electric city, raising fees of education and healthcare to create good business opportunities of the global companies.

"How big, then, is AQI(AL-Queda Iraq)? The most persuasive estimate I've heard comes from Malcolm Nance, the author of The Terrorists of Iraq and a twenty-year intelligence veteran and Arabic speaker who has worked with military and intelligence units tracking al-Qaeda inside Iraq. He believes AQI includes about 850 full-time fighters, comprising 2 percent to 5 percent of the Sunni insurgency. "Al-Qaeda in Iraq," according to Nance, "is a microscopic terrorist organization."
And then it says:"Because uncertainty exists, the bar for labeling an attack the work of al-Qaeda can be very low. The fact that a detainee possesses al-Qaeda pamphlets or a laptop computer with cached jihadist Web sites, for example, is at times enough for analysts to link a detainee to al-Qaeda."

"BP: Iran Owns World’s 2nd Oil Reserves

British Petroleum (BP) has said in its latest annual statistical review that Iran has the world second largest oil reserves after Saudi Arabia.Iran’s oil reserves comprising of 137.5 billion barrels are expected to last 86.7 years and those of Saudi Arabia would be sufficient for less than 67 years, added the report. It referred to Iran’s consolidated position as the world fourth largest producer of oil and natural gas, adding that in 2005 it was behind Russia, the US and Canada as a gas producer, but overtook UK, PressTV reported.Meanwhile, Iran was the third largest gas consumer after the US and Russia, but its consumption was less than that of the UK. Despite the country’s rising gas production over the past decade, consumption almost doubled and became the primary source of energy instead of oil.The report said that Iran, possessing 15.5 percent of the world gas reserves, namely five times that of the US reserves, stood second after Russia.Meanwhile, BP reported a 5.3 percent boost in Iran’s refining capacity to 1.7 million barrels per day, which was less than those of the US and China.Despite its rich oil and gas reserves, given the growing consumption rate and population growth, as in any other country, Iran needs to seek alternative fuel resources, including nuclear energy, to respond to the rising demand of future generations."

"Periodically over the years, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the U.S. Department of Energy, prodded by executives in the nuclear industry, have sought to ease the rules against re-using "lightly" contaminated radioactive waste. The impetus has been the inexorably growing stockpile of nuclear debris—much of it lethal—that has been accumulating at weapons sites and power plants in America for decades. One way to draw down the stockpile would be to recycle large volumes of discarded nickel, aluminum, copper, steel, and other irradiated metals into usable products. If slightly radioactive metal were combined with other metals, the resulting material could be made into all kinds of consumer items—knives and forks, baby strollers, chairs, rings, eyeglass frames, bicycles, reclining rockers, earrings, frying pans. It also could be used in construction.
Lest any of this sound improbable, in the 1980s radioactive table legs began turning up in the United States everywhere from restaurants to nursing homes. A radioactive gold ring cost a Pennsylvania man his arm. The public outcry was so great that in 1992 Congress set out to ban this form of recycling. The N.R.C., D.O.E., and nuclear industry saw the ban coming and were not happy about it, but they also saw a way out: maybe it would be possible to develop broad guidelines that would allow the contaminated waste to be recycled based on what were deemed "safe" exposure levels. Never mind that there is no such thing as a safe dose of radiation. Two months before the ban was signed into law, the N.R.C. gave the multi-million-dollar job of formulating the guidelines to an outside contractor. The contractor was SAIC."

Nothing like some more war. The Israel has bombed a arms cache in Syria. The Jews say that it was a part of a shipment to the Hizbullah in Lebonnon. But are we sure. I don't know who to believe these days.

FRom: Israel conducted air strike inside Syria

13:20 13/09/2007

Sorry about the last entry. It was a mistake or a misunderstanding. But still the Israel planes were there in Syrian airspace and the anti-aircraft guns blazed after them. According to the Syrians the planes dumped the ammunition in the desert which exploded and left a big hole and no one was injured or nothing damaged.

From BBC: Syria complains to UN over Israel

It is becomng a bit clearer now. What happened I think was, IAF tried to see what they can do in Syrian airspace. They can go through Syria and Turkey and get into Iran. So they thought they will try it with lots of ammunition and extra fuel tanks. But in Northern Syria the radar found out the incurtion and had a go at the IAF planes. So they turned tail and high tailed back home. As they were loaded with shed load of ammunition and extra fuel tanks they dropped them in the desert in Syria and Turkey.

These two helped me: Israel tried to attack ground targets in Syria, says Bishara

Cool the US outlawed PKK as a terrorist organisation. Now US officers are having regular meetings with pKK and supporting their efforts against the Iranians. Hmmmm.... history does repeat itself. Hopefully when all these over and doe with, even forgotton by the masses, then PKK will attack US as Bin Laden is doing init?

Check out: US Officers Have Regular Meetings with PKK Terrorists

My theory about Iraq at the moment is like this. In baghdad there were 65% Sunni before the invation. Now there is 75% Shia. Iran is Shia. As long as there is trouble in Iraq Bush will not be allowed to touch Iran by the population of US. Remember last week or so MR Sadr told his militia to stop all the attacks. And according to a McClatchy newspapers:

"445,000 people were on the security forces’ payroll, but didn’t discuss that many officials believe that thousands of those don’t actually exist, but are phantoms whose salaries actually go into ministry officials’ pockets."

From: What Crocker and Petraeus Didn't Say

So if US leaves Iraq now this will have to stop. I mean Sadr will not be able to increase Shia majority in Baghdad and there won't be any funds. So now the attacks has been stopped Bush can say the surge is working and get the congress on his side.

Will it work?

And the Sunni side. US is giving money to Sunni insurgents to attack and get rid of AL-Quaeda which is a very small group. So now the Sunni and the Baathist are getting armed at US cost. That way there will be more attacks when Bush get some of the troops out of Iraq as both sides get money to arm themselves. Then he can say, "Hey we need more troops."

Here is the link: US bribe insurgents to fight Al-Qaeda

This is crazy; Turkey is trying to get gas from Iran its neighbour and the bloody Us says no to it. I am not surprised that Iran and them lot hates bloody US. They cannot do anything without asking permission from this fucker init?

History of God And Wind Farms

History of God

Long time ago the man -er woman- was uneducated and didn't know the physics, biology or chemistry. So they thought God was Sun , Moon, Fire etc etc. Then the man - er - started realising little things that Sun is another Earth but hot. and the Moon is another Earth but dead etc etc, and started thinking about a God made in the image of man but with extra abilities like superman. But the God said don't make me in the image of man. So man - er - got rid of that god and had a a big light as god, and dark as devil. OOps no one asked what devil wanted to look like, and some one said it will be better to have god without a name and call it nothing. What the hell is nothing. I like to call my god nothing. So I do not have a god, as god is nothing. Hang on.........If I call god nothing then it will not be nothing......Lump of dope a shot of tequila please sir thank you.

Wind Farms

Say for instance, instead of having a big fucking fan to drive a big fucking turbine to get the electricity, why don't we have loads of tiny fans - fair ground style ones - and tiny turbines to craete a small amount of electricity with a wireing system to add them together for whatever we have in mind? These can be put in anywhere you see viable. No complains init?

THe Middle East The Way I Understand. (Any questions please email me)
In the Muslim world there are few sects like christian do. Major players are Shia and Sunni muslims. In Lebannon there are both sects with Shia majority. Shia Hezbollah, with Nasrullah as the leader, is the one you have to reckon with in Lebannon. Now Mr Bush and co does not like them. In fact Mr Bush and co does not like muslims period. But in Lebannon Americans do not like Shia, and support covertly through Saudi Arabia the Sunnis. Now Sunnis are the ones who created the Jihadist who are suicide bombers etc. And they are the ones US and the allies fight against in Afghanistan and the Sept 11th chaos was caused by them. Remember in 1980's Afghanistan was Russian controled country. And US put Osama Bin Laden a Saudi to create an uprising. US paid billions to create havoc. All the money went through the Saudi Arabia. Then US wanted the Sunni Thaliban out of Afghanistan and went against them to get the Oil pipelines sorted. But the Afghanis wanted more money and will not hand over the control to US. That is why they destroyed the Twin Towers. Then US bullied the UN to make war against the Thaliban and started the war in Afghanistan which is still going on. Do you get it so far

In Iraq the Saddam Hussein was Sunni sect and kept the majority Shia under control until we went there and fucked it up right royal. Iran is Shia majority country. So US and UK does not like Iran. They never like Iran but used them when ever needed eg. War against the Terrorists. Well in fact it is the Israel who is the major player who makes US and UK decide all these.

In Lebannon there is a little fighting going on with this group calling themselves Fatah al-Islam who is Sunni, and the government forces. The Government in Lebannon is a weak puppet government put in there by the US to counteract against the Hezbollah. Just like the way US done it in Afghanistan they are doing it in Lebannon. Through Saudis, Us and Israel has been funding various Sunni Jihardists, in Lebannon to go against the Shia Hezbollah with the approval of Lebonese government. Now one of them Fatah al-Islam is giving the government problems and they are fighting them. US and Israel are accusing the Syrians that they are funding them. The main stream media says the same thing. Well what do you expect.
Profile: Fatah al-Islam
