Gravity

What is gravity has f****** lots of human's brain out. So simple explanation huh? Wikipedia says this:

Gravity (from Latin gravitas, meaning 'weight'[1]), or gravitation, is a natural phenomenon by which all things with mass or energy—including planets, stars, galaxies, and even light[2]—are brought toward (or gravitate toward) one another. On Earth, gravity gives weight to physical objects, and the Moon's gravity causes the ocean tides. The gravitational attraction of the original gaseous matter present in the Universe caused it to begin coalescing, forming stars – and for the stars to group together into galaxies – so gravity is responsible for many of the large-scale structures in the Universe. Gravity has an infinite range, although its effects become increasingly weaker on farther objects.

Not so smple is it?
And then I came across the Einstein's General Relativity theory. In that :

The prediction of the deflection of light was first confirmed by Arthur Stanley Eddington from his observations during the Solar eclipse of 29 May 1919.[23][24] Eddington measured starlight deflections twice those predicted by Newtonian corpuscular theory, in accordance with the predictions of general relativity. However, his interpretation of the results was later disputed.[25] More recent tests using radio interferometric measurements of quasars passing behind the Sun have more accurately and consistently confirmed the deflection of light to the degree predicted by general relativity.[26] See also gravitational lens.

So if we know the dimention of the Sun, the distance to the quasar, and the speed of light, can't we get a solution for gravity in terms of seconds and meters? And we know that the gravity of the Sun is 28 times that of Earth. I am not a maths boffin so I am afraid I cannot do any investigation into this.  In the bucket list li (loving it)

2011-02-10 US, Syria Propaganda War Over Syrian Nuclear Investigation and Diplomatic Relations

Cables released by WikiLeaks on Syria show a State Department eager to repair relations with Syria, which were in extreme ruin when the Bush Administration left power. They show the US government was eager to double their efforts at targeting Syria’s interest in developing nuclear capabilities. The cable 09DAMASCUS142 (does not work prrrff) from February 19, 2009, shows US officials wanted to find a way to break through Syrian media, which is tightly controlled by the government, and get its own propaganda into the country so Syrians could hear what the US considered to be the truth on US-Syria relations.
Officials were concerned that “savvy journalists” had become “adept at self-censorship.” And, thus, the truth about Syria’s nuclear activities was not being reported:

Did not have to wait for Luc, at all very surprised. Came around on time. Normally couple of hours I have to wait for him. I was already packed but I had the rubbish to put out, he did that for me, while I did the washing up. On we started our trip to Cornwall. Its situated near the border with Devon, but lets not argue. Its something to do with the river Tamar. Hee hee (Lots of arguments about the border of Cornwall. Never mention Cornish Pasties). Driving was smooth and nice, for a change in Luc's normal driving. Not many vehicles on the M5.

Luc had to go to deliver a package from his brother-in-law Bob to a repair shop in Wooten-Under-Edge So off the beaten track to Wooten. Nothing to write about the town, if you have been there. If not ask your History teacher for any facts.

Back on the M5. Straight away Luc says "Got to get petrol". O dear. So we came out of the next junction at Cribs-Causeway. Petrol done paid off at the pump. Blimey that was fast except Luc nearly fell sleep while holding the nozzle into the tank. Slow dribbley pump.

By and by we came off the M5 and moved into the country roads. God forbid, what a state these roads. Smell of muck drifted very friendly across us and we carried on nonplussed. Then the smell got worse and we found out that the muck spreader is doing a fine job on the ex-road. May be next summer they will have to get the combine-harvester to finish the job. Luc was feeling thirsty. My back was killing me slowly. So we hit the pub. Its a new pub and there were some people sitting down on one side of the pub. We convened on the other side as bar flies. A tequila went down cool and started to work on my back pain. Luc gulped his larger before I came back from the wee room. Wee room had old fashioned country way, with a basket of fresh hand towels to wipe your washed face and hands and another basket for the soiled towels. Exit pub feeling good.

Ventured into Helen, Lucs sister and amd her hubby Bob's farm. Not a soul around outside. We entered the kitchen. Hey where is everyone. So I sat on a chair in the kitchen, Luc went into the sitting room. I heard him mumbling something to someone. Luc's dog errr bitch, Pip came out and recognized me and wanted me to fuss around her. Bless oo long time no see heh?

Its not good. The story was that bob is asleep on the sofa and Helen and Sam Luc's cousin (father different from Bob) has gone to shops. The time of arrival back home unkown. Luc made some tea. Waited 10 mnts or so. Bob did not come out. So we decided to go to Luc's. Threw the undrunk tea in the sink and out we went. In a way I was very happy going in there. It was lived in with things piled up and the kitchen was thankfully 100 times dirtier than mine. Ha ha init.

I felt like a piece of that dark brown stuff you step on and cannot get rid of unless you find somewhere to scrape it off. I don't know why. But may be I expected more, like some one to say hi.

At last we arrived at this beautiful circa 1270 AD, old converted stables. And that is his flat. I mean bigger than a flat. It got 3 large bedrooms and a good size sitting room. Small toilet with a shower. And a nice long kitchen with a breakfast unit. Ah girt lush matey. The walls are thicker than my shoulders. I love looking at these old dears before their ultimate demise. It was owned by the Duchy of Cornwall, Prince Of Wales ilk. A good thinking man, the landlord, has bought this in 1994 and converted them into 2 flats and the middle bit as his own domain. Good man eh? So I am so proud of my man Luc, to get this place for the sole intention to have a place for his 3 young girls, to holiday. I christened my visit by opening my other good friend, a bottle of Vodka and had it.

This is where we go into the flat

Luc organised a wicked curry and Luc gulped it, me ate it, washed down with wine and larger. My my I got so pissed I blipped and went to bed. Well I remembered later I was disgustingly bad at mouthing off at Luc for something or another. F'ing cold it was in the night. Did not sleep much. The back pain went up by more than double due to I think the way I was sitting in the car. Must remember this on the way back huh?

05:01:2000

And a colder morning. But the flat was becomingly worm. Found Luc already in the kitchen. Made me a cup of coffee ( not my normal cafetiere one but that sufficed). Normal sleepy head morning chit chat followed for a while until he decided to make breakfast. I am not a breakfast person but when in Rome etc I digressed. I don't have breakfast unless it comes in a pre-packed box inviting to be nuked by the micro. Hey hey how dare you call me a bloody lazy. It is just me in my little old flat. Cooking for one is not laziness but practicality. Ok you can have your own petty thoughts. I hope one day they come out with a solution, made for one man who likes breakfast. O yes there are but, when I tried; it was one hell of a piece of what you call it... ahh words fail me. But what Luc made me was bloody good . Egg, Bacon etc etc. But though big I made it after about half an hour or so. Blimey go back to bed. Hey no way.

Yikes a bit of History of the area.

The recorded history and the topography of Callington strongly suggest a planned medieval borough was created here by the 13th century. ‘Calwiton’ was a Domesday manor within South Hill parish (the name meaning ‘bare hill farm’), which obtained a chapel in the early 12th century on the site of the present church. This small dependent churchtown was situated at the junction of a number of important routes between navigable rivers (Lynher, Tamar) and close to the early-exploited mining area on Kit Hill as well as a prosperous agricultural (and wool-producing) hinterland. Perhaps not surprisingly, by 1267 a market charter was granted by Henry III. The small market town has typical elements of a planned settlement – a chapel dependent on a distant mother-church, a triangular shaped market place laid out on flat ground, opening out in front of the church with burgage plots on either side with back lanes and evidence of roads being re-routed to pass through the market place (Liskeard Road – Church Street). In 1436 an application was made for the right of burial and in 1438 the present church and the lantern cross in the churchyard were erected. In 1583 the town received borough status. Boundary stones define the boundaries of the borough.

If you want to have a butchers into this and have a few hours of your time this is the link:

The recorded history and the topography of Callington

Ok we will come to Kit Hill a bit later on.

A wicked map of the earliest ordinance msps of the area

Ahh here came the punishment. We went outside to look around. Me lookie ,Luc showie. Straight away Luc said, " Cor blimey you stepped on dog poo". Just what I needed. At least there was good brushy grass with dew on top. Wiped it almost clean I hoped. No time to dilley-dally around. There in front of us an unconverted 1270's barn. Well bit repaired here and there. You can see the repairs, check the pics.

The Old Barn

  Another Old Barn

an old stable has been converted into 3 living space.  The stable lot (living space)is quite long to have the 2 flats and the ends and the landlord's lair in the middle. One time the whole thing was used as a cider making building. You can see the slide they constructed for the apple to be delivered. See pic.

The Slide where the apples were loaded into the cider house

The rest is mundane grass fields with clump of cedar tree which the tenants can use as firewood down below.

I purposely did not take any pics inside (do not know why hmmm buggers)

But here are some pics from outside

The Bedroom Side Of The Flat

The Sitting Room Side Of The Flat

Damn forgot to mention the fireplace in the sitting room. The flat got radiators but they come at certain times of the evening and morning. Came back indoors rather to escape the freezer outside. Then I called my good friend John C (lovingly reffered  to as Scottish John). He said he will come to Luc's at 12:30 PM. Wow time so precise, I loves it. Never knew Jocks to be on time.

I take my sentence above back. John arrived at the right time and after preliminary hugs and hi's we started talking at the same time. Luc left us and proceeded to the sitting room to get the fire going. Good lad as even inside it was getting a bit rubbing palms like. Hey hey good in front of the fire. good old chat for the next 2 hours with lots of mugs of tea. And lots of logs in the fire. We enjoyed yapping about the yester years rubbish. I love talking rubbish. Thats the best ever entertainment you can have, a bit of one-up-manship. I found  that Luc bumped on to John at Helen's farm. John was delivering some furniture to the farm and Luc being there goes, "Oi I knows you".  BTW Luc and John met each other at my place long time ago. We all love coincidences init? So we all decided to go for a spin in John's car. We went to a place called Kit Hill (mentioned above), around Callington. It was freezing and there was plenty ground mist swirling around. But you can see 15 miles or more in a clear day, as far away as Plymouth. But it was not unfortunately be able to see even with binoculars. So after paying our respects to the big tower with lots of mobile and TV aerials, we got back into the luxury warmth of the car. Back to Luc's and John said buy for now. Lovely time. Nice to see an old friend. Yep from 1990.

And now we both bit tired and all; but Luc decided to cook some tea. But me I am still full with the breakfast. But not I can stop the very stubborn man. So baked spuds was made. Man it was full works with butter and cheese etc. I could only eat half the spud. And O Boy I was dented by the experience. I wish I can eat more, but there is a limit to all good things. So I went to bed for a little sleep. We can call it a nap in the evening. Woke up about 9 and started writing this journal until Luc came about to watch the MOD (for the uninitiated that means Match of the Day). Watched it and I being still full up had to leave the food in the micro. Buggers . Me did not feel good about it. I hope it is not an insult. Crossed fingers. Went to bed for the night.

06:01:2019

Luc was planning to go to see his mother to take her to the Quaker's do. I was planning to go with him. But woken up at 8.30 AM was not my idea of holiday init? So I decided not to go with him. So I a lunatic who did not know about the heating of the flat stayed in. Well lets put it this way Luc explained but I was not really listening as this is his pad and I am a visitor. I enjoyed the solitude of the place and watched some of the drivel from the tv. Ah his tv is a tablet and very very small. But beggers choice init? So by about 11 AM the temperature of the flat started to wonder down. I was troubled. So another layer and the jacket went on but my head was not very worm. So the towel went on top and I read the Witch magazine and settled down. Some program though boring kept me entertained. Prrrr I wish I went with Luc. But my back said no init? Well I said to myself,"You have been in worse situations than this, man, grin and stop winging". That thought got me through until Luc arrived. No no, I started texting him, asking him,"What is ur ETA ' ur place ". And the door opened. Viola! Ze man appeared.

Aha the fire in the sitting room. I wished I asked Luc about how to start it etc etc. Now he explained all to me. That was I believe I will do it next time I visit some one else's domain, and stay there for a few days. LOL. He did the fire and my core temperature started to rise. Hmm memories faded in from the dim past, when I was living homelessand sleeping in a sleeping bag in the open air, in 1987 to 1990. And in 2003 to 2005 living in a storage garage. That is another story. Enjoyed the afternoon and evening watching details of FA cup matches in the little box. Yeah my man Luc is bloody irritatingly happy that Man City won 7/0. Gosh we watched afternoon scores a few times. The match between Newport Town and Leicester City was good. I took Leicester side and grrr I and  they lost. More irritation as he kept on asking me what the score was 2-1 to NT. Grrr.

Wicked. He cooked a Sunday roast. bloody good thing I did not have breakfast init? Jeez that was yummy and filling. It had all the trimming. Tell you what he is not a bad cook. No no no,a good cook. Practiced over the years cooking for his kids I think. I for one has lost the touch. After years of heating up frozen packs of already prepared food, I can manage a stir fry with noodles. I did offer him to do it. He refused to accept it. Thank God. Hee hee. Couple of hours of an evening nap got up to watch the inevitable MOD. Yes all the matches of the day. Got bored after the Man City highlights and went to bed, as I did not want to watch him glorifying Man City's match. Though I would have loved to stay there for another few days, but the decision was made to get back next day. Luc's time in the flat is going to be finished by Thursday. I wanted to get a taxi back but Luc said he will drop me home. I decided to give him what ever the taxi cost. Ungentlemanly to utter the figures, and he was happy. Aha another quilt the job was done. Toast. very good sleep.

07:01:2019

Good morning Callington. Warmer morning today and coffee went down well and good. Luc getting ready to go to his sister's and I did not feel good. So I stayed back. Learnt everything how to start the fire and got the fire place loaded with logs.  Had a bit of bother to get the fire going. There were two wettish large logs which were piled in the fire. So lots of fire lighters went in but the fire said hmm not. Persistence paid off. manage the bugger to roar on like it has no tomorrow. So lied around the fire for the next couple of hours. It was good fire. But do not pile it to the top with wet logs. Keep it small to start with until you get a good fire roaring. Then pile on the wet buggers if you must. But otherwise put them in front or on top of the fire place to dry. Hey hey now I am an expert in doing a fire. But I will forget the whole lot next time.

Good all practice maketh (Bloody Americans do not know olde English, like maketh and olde) logs fire well. Right! packed my goodies in the two bags. By the way I wore the same cloths I went there with except my t shirt, knickers and socks. Mummy's orders. Tried the shower. For a man of wisdom who likes his baths; that was a 2 minute affair. Well water was just hot to start with but got cold. What did I expect after 11 AM. All ready final ciggie smoked. But Luc did not happen until 10 past 3 PM. but then he says " The clock in the sitting room is not the right time". Now he tells me after spending all this time 10 minutes ahead.  Aha eggs from the farm. Jolly good huh? Had a long chat about rubbish, which I am getting better at. Ribbing Luc with banter.

Much later sitting at home and finishing this off.

Blimey my memory has gone on holiday. Hope memory is stuck on the runaway and the plane cannot take off. Now the memory is back. Lost parts came back to me.

Corrumba burn all logs in the fire, and we set off about 4 PM. Nothing special happened on the way as we did not stop at all. Comfy ride around 90 MPH. Well M5 has its own 'stop and go' at Bridgwater. But made good time to Bristol to get a Burgher King treat which is Luc's favourite (f'king American shite dictionary says wrong spelling. Bugger them). One thing out of all this is Luc is a good pal and he will go in my Hall of Fame for eternity. Don't tell him tho. F off thats it.

International Panel for Climate Change Report 2018

I read this report with much trepidation , but as I am too old and childless I stopped my stress about it. Here is some of the summery the report mentioned:

FAQ1.1:Why are we talking about 1.5°C?
Summary: Climate change represents an urgent and potentially irreversible threat to human societies and the planet. In recognition of this, the  overwhelming majority of countries around the world adopted the Paris Agreement in December 2015,the central  aim of which includes pursuing efforts to  limit global temperature rise to 1.5°C.
In doing so, these countries, through the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) also invited the IPCC to provide a Special Report on the impacts of global warming of 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels and related global greenhouse gas emissions pathways
FAQ 1.2: How close are we to 1.5°C?
Summary:
Human–induced warming has already reached about 1°C above pre-industrial levels at the time of writing of this Special Report. By the decade 2006–2015, human activity had warmed the world by 0.87°C (±0.12°C) compared to        pre-industrial times (1850–1900). If the current warming ratecontinues, the world would   reach human–induced global warming of 1.5°C around 2040.

FAQ 2.1:What kind of pathways limit warming to 1.5°C and are we on track?
Summary: There is no definitive way to limit global temperature rise to 1.5°C above   pre-industriallevels. This Special Report identifies two main conceptual pathways to illustrate different interpretations. One stabilises global temperature at, or just below, 1.5°C. Another sees global temperature temporarily exceed 1.5°C before coming back down. Countries’ pledges to reduce their emissions are currently not in line with limiting global warming to 1.5°C

FAQ 2.2:What do energy supply and demand have to do with limiting warming to 1.5°C?
Summary: Limiting global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels would   require major reductions in greenhouse gas emissions in all sectors. But different sectors are not independent of each other and making changes in one can have implications for another. For example, if we as a society use a lot of energy, then this could mean we have less flexibility in the choice of mitigationoptions available to limit warming to 1.5°C. If we use less energy, the choice of possible actions is greater. For example we could be less reliant on technologies that remove carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere
FAQ3.1: What are the impacts of 1.5°C and 2°C of warming?
Summary The impacts of climate change are being felt in every inhabited   continent and in the oceans. But they are not spread uniformly across the globe, and different parts of the world experience impacts differently. An average warming of 1.5°C across the whole globe raises the risk of
heatwaves and heavy rainfall events, amongst many other potential impacts. Limiting warming to1.5°C rather than 2°C can help reduce these risks. But the impacts the world experiences will depend on the specific greenhouse gas emission ‘pathway’ taken. The consequences of temporarily overshooting
1.5°C and returning later in the century, for example, could be larger than if
temperature stabilizes below 1.5°C. The size and duration of an overshoot will also affect future impacts.

FAQ 4.1:What Transitions Could  Enable Limiting Global Warming to 1.5°C?
Summary: In order to limit warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels, the world would need to transform in a number of complex and connected ways. While transitions towards lower greenhouse gas emissions are underway in some cities, regions, countries, businesses and communities, there are few that are currently consistent with limiting warming to 1.5°C. Meeting this challenge would require a rapid escalation in the current scale and pace of change, particularly in the coming decades. There are many factors that affect the feasibility of different adaptation and mitigation options that could help limit warming to 1.5°C and withadapting to the consequences.

FAQ 4.2:What are Carbon Dioxide Removal and Negative Emissions?
Summary: Carbon dioxide removal (CDR) refers to the process of removing
CO2 from the atmosphere. Since this is the opposite of emissions, practices or technologies that remove CO2 are often described as achieving ‘negative emissions’. The process is sometimes referred to more broadly as greenhouse gas removal if it involves removing gases other than CO2. There are two main types ofC DR: either enhancing existing natural processes that remove carbon from the atmosphere (e.g., byincreasing its uptake by trees, soil, or other ‘carbon sinks’) or using chemical processes to, for example, capture CO2 directly from the ambient air and store it elsewhere (e.g., underground). All CDR methods are at different stages of development and some are more conceptual than others, as they have not been tested at scale
FAQ 4.3:Why is Adaptation Important in a 1.5°C-Warmer World?
Summary: Adaptation is the process of adjusting to current or expected changes in climate and its effects. Even though climate change is a global problem, its impacts are experienced differently across the world. This means that responses are often specific to the local context, and so people in different regions are adapting in different ways. A rise in global temperature from the current 1°C above pre-industrial levels to 1.5°C, and beyond, increases the need for adaptation. Therefore, stabilizing global temperatures at 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels would require a smaller adaptation effort than at 2°C. Despite many successful examples around the world, progress in adaptation is, in many regions,in its infancy and unevenly distributed globally.

FAQ5.1: What Are the Connections between Sustainable Development and Limiting Global Warming to 1.5°C above Pre-Industrial Levels
Summary:Sustainable development seeks to meet the needs of people living today without compromising the needs of future generations, while balancing social, economic and environmental considerations. The 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) include targets for eradicating poverty; ensuring health, energy and food security; reducing inequality; protecting ecosystems; pursuing sustainable cities and economies; and a goal for climate action (SDG13). Climate change affects the ability to achieve sustainable development goals, and limiting warming to 1.5°C will help meet some sustainable development targets. Pursuing sustainable development will influence
emissions, impacts and vulnerabilities. Responses to climate change in the form of adaptation and mitigation will also interact with sustainable development with npositive effects, known as synergies, or negative effects, known as trade-offs. Responses to climate change can be planned to maximize synergies and limit trade-offs with sustainable development.

FAQ 5.2:What are the Pathways to Achieving Poverty Reduction and Reducing
Inequalities While Reaching the 1.5°C World?
Summary:There are ways to limit global warming to 1.5°C above pre
-industrial levels. Of the pathways that exist, some simultaneously achieve sustainable development. They entail a mix of measures that lower emissions and reduce the impacts of climate change, while contributing to poverty eradication and reducing inequalities. Which pathways are possible and desirable will differ between and within regions and nations. This is due to the fact that development progress to date has been uneven and climate
-related risks are unevenly distributed. Flexible governance would be needed
to ensure that such pathways are inclusive, fair and equitable to avoid poor and disadvantaged populations becoming worse off. Climate-resilient development pathways (CRDPs) offer possibilities to achieve both equitable and low-carbon futures

Dark Energy

Go and read the article in Wikipedia For those who are lazy here is a summery.

The observable universe is understood as a sphere around the Earth extending 93 billion light years (8.8 *1026 meters) But the problem is we cannot see beyond this due to red shift and we see the cosmic microwave background (CMB). (This is a scientific fudge factor introduced to explain the un-explainable things.)  Is the observed universe from earth the same as the real universe. Scientists do not know. So they devised a plan to get rid of all these unknowns. they made a model of the universe with our limited knowledge and tested it. Viola we have a flat expanding universe.

This is like a fairy tale.......

Wiki says:

Many things about the nature of dark energy remain matters of speculation.[12] The evidence for dark energy is indirect but comes from three independent sources:
  • Distance measurements and their relation to redshift, which suggest the universe has expanded more in the last half of its life.[13]
  • The theoretical need for a type of additional energy that is not matter or dark matter to form the observationally flat universe (absence of any detectable global curvature).
  • It can be inferred from measures of large scale wave-patterns of mass density in the universe.

Well this problem came to the scientific world when they calculated the amount of matter in the observed universe. oops only 4%. Where is the rest OMG about 96%. So all the boffins are looking for it and came up with a very good idea.  74% Dark Energy and 32% Dark Matter.

In this I found that how devious the boffins are:

It sounds rather strange that we have no firm idea about what makes up 74% of the universe. It's as though we had explored all the land on the planet Earth and never in all our travels encountered an ocean. But now that we've caught sight of the waves, we want to know what this huge, strange, powerful entity really is.

The strangeness of dark energy is thrilling.

It shows scientists that there is a gap in our knowledge that needs to be filled, beckoning the way toward an unexplored realm of physics. We have before us the evidence that the cosmos may be configured vastly differently than we imagine. Dark energy both signals that we still have a great deal to learn, and shows us that we stand poised for another great leap in our understanding of the universe.

Palestine

Watching this program on 13/10/2015, on BBC Newsnight program; I realised the following logic:

1...... there was PLO...... jewish meaning
2.....They made Israel nervous....
3.......Israel made Hamas to divide Palestine......
Learnt from Machiavelli  I think "Divide n r..."

Do you believe in DNA

Lydia Fairchild is an American woman who exhibits chimerism, with two different sets of DNA present in her body. She was pregnant with her third child when she and the father of her children, Jamie Townsend, separated. When Fairchild applied for child support in 2002, she was requested to provide DNA evidence that Townsend was the father of her children. While the results showed Townsend was certainly the father of the children, the DNA tests indicated that she was not their mother.

heck this and this

Now do you?

Check this little wonder

Digenetic trematodes are parasitic flatworms with complex life cycles, typically involving two or more hosts.

This guy first (damn chicken and egg situation here) gets into a water snail and lay the eggs. The larvae eat the snail inside out. Then they escape into the pond. Gets a bit funny. So these larvae search tadpoles and get into their rear ends. They wait untill the tadpole gets begger and into a frog. The parasite then make the frog's body make an extra leg at the rear end. So the frog is hmmm disabled and cannot escape the predatory birds. So the frog gets eaten by a bird. This is what the prasite has been waiting for. Sex.

In the bird's tummy the perasite have sex and goes out of the bird as poo. Hey hey we start at the hmmmmm startd. In the pond bird's poo eaten by the snail. Gosh. That must have been a lot of reseach for the parasite init?

Blood Falls

there is a reddish brown falls which extentds a few kilometers were found in Antarctica. An Australian geologist Griffith Taylor, who first explored the valley that bears his name. He thought it was because of red algae. That supposition was held for 100 or so years.

In comes geomicrobiologist Jill Mikucki at the University of Tennessee, who was interested in this phenomena since her graduate days. Ultimately she got funded and took a crew to Antarctica to investigate. She found a massive salt water lake under the ice. ,The brine is 3 times more concentrated with salt than normal. There is no oxygen. Her crew found there; a rare subglacial ecosystem of autotrophic bacteria developed that metabolizes sulfate and ferric ions, in the lake. So the problem solved huh?

God

God? What do you know about your God, you believe in? Who told you about God? Did you read about God?

In any case you perceive, by reading, hearing etc through an outside sourse. So you analyse and believe by your own logical thoughts. Now; how can you say that particular god you believe in, is the same as what you read or heard of?

This is my dilemma. How are your thoughts ?

What Time Is It

Ref to Horizon program  or on youtube

Going back a long long time ago Mayan civilization was into Time in a big way. When it comes to that so were lots of other civilizations. Time is not a particular one to all. It can be different to observers in different places and if some one is moving and the other is not.

We all debate whether it is something we feel as some kind of sensation. Does it matter? I do not have an opinion on that, as it is not in my logic. After thousands of years of observing the sun and the moon we have a 24 hour day etc.  When we made use of powerful radio telescopes we timed our earth's rotation with reference to a distant quasar. But when considerd that 600 million years ago we had 22hr day we knew we have to find another way.. Now we have a cesium atom being bombarded with energy to move an electron to an outer shell, then wait for the electron to move to inner shell. When that happens a photon is emitted with a certain frequency. Yeah all our international clocks are timed with that contraption.

Then we know that; when we go to the quantum levels, we notice that time is in quanta-tic little bits of time which keeps on adding. Hmmm I like this.

So we can call this lowest unit of time: TIMETON.

We cannot measure anything smaller than the Plank's Constant viz. 6.62607004 × 10-34 m2 kg / s

So Timeton is just that or to be sure make it 6.0× 10-34  s .

Bit of help from Wiki

Try "What Is Time? One Physicist Hunts for the Ultimate Theory"

Why not Read this which summarises thus:

  •  SUMMARY1.  We measure time by comparing one standard motion against another. Time may not have any independent existence. Time and
clocks are used for convenience. The motion could have been compared directly.

    2. Motion alone is not enough to explain time. Forces also appear to be part of time. Arrow of time may be explained if we think of
time as presence of forces and motion.

    3.  Perception of time as past present and future gives us the illusion of the passage of time as well as the block universe view of
time. Above it is shown that this perception may just be an illusion and time is more like memory and recording devices.
The similarity of time characteristic of past present and future in historical events and made up stories also suggests that our
perception of time is an illusion and this aspect of time is also like a record. The fact that the present which gives us the most
real feel of time cannot be measured while the inaccessible past and future can be measured as durations strongly suggests
that the way we perceive time (present-ism or the block universe view) is an illusion.

    4. Slowing of time in motion and gravity does not lead to disappearance into the past as should happen if there was block universe.
Absence of time travellers from futuristic advanced civilizations is also against the concept of the block universe.

    5. The concept of origin of the universe in the Big Bang is at complete odds with the block universe view of time. If the block universe
which is supposed to be laid out as a time-scape (from the past to the present to the infinite future) exists and began in big bang
then it would mean that all of the time up to the infinite future would come into existence in the instant of the big bang. This idea is
     truly preposterous.

    6. Slowing of time in gravity and in motion as well as the ultimate speed limit c provides us the necessary clues to understanding the
cause of the phenomenon of time however we need to first convince ourselves that time is a process that is linked to motion and
forces and the block universe view of time is not correct.

  Another one with this summary

1.        What is time?
2.        Is time a dimension?
3.        Why time is related to the curvature of space?
4.        How mass causes space to curve?
5.        What causes time dilation in gravity?
6.        What is gravity and why gravity is only attractive?
7.        What causes time dilation in motion?
8.        How speed of light remains constant in moving objects?
9.        What accelerating universal expansion is really telling us?
10.      What causes length contraction?
11.      How masses move through the structure of space without any resistance?
12.      What causes inertia?
13.      Why objects gain mass with increase in velocity?
14.      Why despite the runaway gravity of the black holes they do not disappear from the universe?
15.      Is there singularity in black holes?
16.      Why time has a direction?

Are Human beings Digital?

I googled the question, 'Are Human beings Digital?' and got these:

This one says:

The brain is neither analog nor digital, but works using a signal processing paradigm that has some properties in common with both.

Unlike a digital computer, the brain does not use binary logic or binary addressable memory, and it does not perform binary arithmetic. Information in the brain is represented in terms of statistical approximations and estimations rather than exact values. The brain is also non-deterministic and cannot replay instruction sequences with error-free precision. So in all these ways, the brain is definitely not "digital".

The question is are human being digital? The brain function can be like above. But consider this:

First "Shall I drink water?"  The body says "I am thirsty" So my brain is analog and digital before any action. Then I decide to drink. That action is digital. Because there are only 2 states in the action. yes /No.

So I firmly believe I am Digital being. Same goes to all other situations as they  are digital. There can be many states before the action. But when the action happens there are only 1 or 0.

Potluck

according to Wikipedia:

A potluck is a gathering of people where each person or group of people contributes a dish of food prepared by the person or the group, to be shared among the larger gathered group. Synonyms include: potluck dinner, spread, Jacob's join,[1][2] Jacob's supper, faith supper, covered dish supper, dish party, bring and share, dutch, pitch-in, bring-a-plate, dish-to-pass, fuddle.

But today I heard on the TV in "Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is" program about antiques, from david Harper a different version. Long time ago when they transported pots with lids, the two come in different boxes. So when they put the lids back to sell them, sometimes you get the right lid. So it potluck.

Before "Big Bang" prof Michio Kaku

As a normal person who has not gone into Astro physics in a big way, i do not believe in Big bang. Good name for people who believe in an all mighty God. my beliefs set aside I like to point out certain assumptions made by eminent  Prof Michio Kaku , has certain big holes in them.

In this program made by UK Horizon, "What Happened Before the Big Bang" he goes into a NASA's Plum Brook Station, in Sanduski Ohio US. there is the biggest vacuum chamber. It has 9 foot aluminium walls.(I know Americans cannot pronounce the word Aluminium ) . So they take all the air and all the atoms out. Then he says in the vacuum  there is energy. And he postulates that before the BB there was a vacuum and there were energy waves which could have made temporary particles which explode. a collective particle explosion created the BB.

Now then professor the vacuum you created has walls they are of course matter. Now I understand  that all matter produce waves. So .....???  I got a problem which has; no answer to it right now, unless someone with more knowledge than me explain this.

All about Manuka Honey

Sorry about this my New Zealand friends.

I found some very tested comments from a BBC. It is not good news for Hanuka honey producers. here it is:

Manuka honey has become increasingly popular in recent years, and can be very expensive. It tends to be sold as having health benefits - but what is the evidence for these?

Manuka honey originated in New Zealand, and it is made from nectar collected by bees that forage on the wild manuka tree, which give it a distinctive flavour. But what about its supposed health benefits?
Most honey is believed to have some bacteria killing properties because it contains chemicals that produce hydrogen peroxide. However, in 1991 a study from the Honey Research Unit in New Zealand showed that when you remove the hydrogen peroxide from a range of honeys, manuka was the only type that kept its ability to kill bacteria. This is due to the presence of a unique ingredient, now identified as methylglyoxal, which has specific antimicrobial properties.

In response to this discovery, jars of manuka honey began to be marketed bearing a UMF number – "Unique Manuka Factor" – relating to how many bacteria the honey could kill once the hydrogen peroxide had been removed. The labeling on jars has, however, caused some confusion. As well as the UMF rating, some jars display MGO, (methylglyoxal) which equates to the same sort of measurement, while others show NPA or TA. The NPA (non-peroxide activity) rating is similarly founded on the level of methyglyoxal the honey contains once the hydrogen peroxide has been removed. TA is instead the total activity, so this includes the hydrogen peroxide, which is present in normal honey. At the same time, some jars can be found with ‘Activity’ or ‘Active’ next to numbers, while some just have numbers alone with no explanation as to their justification.

The Ministry of Primary Industries (MPI) in New Zealand has released its own voluntary labelling guidelines.

Sorry i lost the link to the above expose??? Never mind see this one:

Meddling kids confirm mānuka honey isn’t panacea

The Sunday Star-Times has a story about a small, short-term, unpublished randomised trial of mānuka honey for preventing minor illness. There are two reasons this is potentially worth writing about: it was done by primary school kids, and it appears to be the largest controlled trial in humans for prevention of illness.
Here are the results (which I found from the Twitter account of the school’s lab, run by Carole Kenrick, who is  named in the story)

And:

You might, at a stretch, say mānuka honey could affect bacteria in the gut, but that’s actually been tested, and any effects are pretty small. Even in wound healing, it’s quite likely that any benefit is due to the honey content rather than the magic of mānuka — and the trials don’t typically have a normal-honey control.
