Staff Sgt., Frank Wuterich:
Frank Wuterich (born 1980) is a private in the United States Marine Corps. On November 19, 2005, he led his men in the Haditha killings, where he and fellow Marines opened up fire resulting in the death of 24 civilians after a Marine had died in an insurgent attack.


Originally charged with murder, the charges were later reduced to involuntary manslaughter and aggravated assault, and on January 23, 2012 Wuterich pled guilty to a single count of negligent dereliction of duty as part of an agreement with military prosecutors. In exchange, all other charges were dropped.[1][2] Wuterich was sentenced on January 24 and convicted to forfeiture of two-thirds of pay for three months and reduction in rank to private.[3]

Pfc. Steven D. Green:
Green grew up in Seabrook, Texas, and moved to Midland, Texas, when he was 14. According to school officials, he dropped out of high school in 2002 after completing the 10th grade and moved to Denver City, Texas, where he earned his high school equivalency in 2003. Days after a January 2005 arrest for alcohol possession, Green enlisted in the U.S. Army. In doing so, he was granted a moral character waiver for prior alcohol and other drug related offenses that might have otherwise disqualified him. Green graduated from infantry training and was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky. According to a military spokesperson and a criminal complaint filed in connection with the charges, Green was honorably discharged from the military "due to antisocial personality disorder but before the military was aware of the incident."^[45] Green was stationed in Iraq from September 2005 to April 2006 and discharged in May 2006.

James P. Barker
On November 15, 2006, Specialist Barker pleaded guilty to rape and murder as part of a plea agreement requiring him to give evidence against the other soldiers to avoid the death penalty. He was sentenced to 90 years in prison, and must serve 20 years before being considered for parole. He wept during closing statements, and accepted responsibility for the rape and killings, saying the violence he had encountered in Iraq left him "angry and mean" toward Iraqis.[47] Despite this show of emotion during closing arguments, Barker showed no such emotion afterward. Journalists reported "he smoked a cigarette outside as a bailiff watched over him. He grinned but said nothing as reporters passed by."[48]


He is currently held in the United States Disciplinary Barracks at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.[49]




Paul E. Cortez
On January 22, 2007, Sergeant Cortez pleaded guilty in a court martial to rape, conspiracy to rape, and four counts of murder as part of a plea deal to avoid the death penalty, and was sentenced to 100 years in prison.[50] He will be eligible for parole in 10 years. Cortez, 24, also was given a dishonorable discharge. He wept as he apologized for the crimes, saying he could not explain why he took part.[51]


He is currently held in the United States Disciplinary Barracks at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.[49]




Jesse V. Spielman



Pfc. Jesse V. Spielman On August 3, 2007, Private first class Spielman, 23, was sentenced by a court martial to 110 years in prison, with the possibility of parole after 10 years. He was convicted of rape, conspiracy to commit rape, housebreaking with intent to rape and four counts of felony murder. He had earlier pleaded guilty to lesser charges of conspiracy to obstructing justice, arson, wrongfully touching a corpse and drinking.[52]

Spielman is currently held in the United States Disciplinary Barracks at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.[49


Bryan L. Howard
Private first class Howard was sentenced by a court martial under a plea agreement to dishonorable discharge and 27 months' imprisonment for obstruction of justice and being an accessory after the fact. The court found that his involvement included hearing the others discussing the crime and lying to protect them, but not commission of the actual rape or murders.[53][54]


Howard was given a dishonorable discharge, received a 27-month sentence, and is currently on parole.[49]

Why?

Living in the war zone, in St Agnes

Few days ago I had a very troublesome night. the police attacked a legal squat without any reason. police say that they found petrol bombs. But none of the interested journalists have not seen the evidence. we need a public inquiry. I could not sleep or watch TV because of the Police helicoptor making the terrible noise. I thought I was in the warzone. It was relentless. I think they had two helicoptors because the sound never stopped. If there was only one the bugger will need refuelling, and give me a bit of quiet to sleep.

Then the next one was the day of the frigging wedding. In the morning and early afternoon the helicoptor stayed right on top of us. Stationed for at least 45 minutes. I think it went for refuelling and was back at the same position. I even phoned the local police station, one on New Foundland Road. Huh? what is the problem sir, I was asked. I said for the last half hour or so there is a helicopter stationary on top of my house. It is driving me crazy. I cannot watch TV without the Sub-titles. The bored PC advised me the helicoptor is catching a thief or saving someone's life. I felt that I was been a nuisance. Do we really have rights? I wonder where I stand in this society. A high n mighty PC can tell me where.

The Wall and The Wet

When I moved in 2007.I a disabled person was given vouchers to buy paint and decorating paraphenalia and do the painting and decorating. Before the decorator painted the kitchen wall, I reported that the walls in my kitchen and the bedroom were wet. The surveyor that time told me, with a giggle, that it is because of ventilation and need a fan. They installed the fan and it did not stop the wet patch. We had to do three coats on them and still the paint bubbled off.

When the kitchen cupboards etc was replaced in 2010 I reported the matter to the surveyor. Doh! It is the cooking he said. I said I don't cook. Take-outs and microwave oven. But he said no there seems to be no problem, though he never checked it with an instrument. I asked him to check the upstairs flat's walls on the same side. I really dont know whether he did it or not. I got my friends to paint. Still bubbling out, I mean the paint not the bloody surveyor.

On the 5th July 2011 I had a visit from the surveyor Rachael after I called the office about the dampness. She came in checked the walls with an instrument and agreed that there seems to be a problem of water seeping through from the outside. I asked her again to check the upstaires flats. After a month or so I phoned her again and asked her whether it is better to put some sealant on the wall. She said NO. Reason? We have to get to the bottom of this problem. I said even after getting to the bottom, still we will have to get the plaster off the walls. NO No she said. Then I asked her whether she checked the upstairs flats? She went oops! What are the numbers of the flats above. Now remember this is the Surveyor asking me the numbers of the flats after 6 weeks. In the mean time I take 2 litres of water everyday from my bedroom dehumudifier.

5th of sept; i just learned from the upstairs tenant that she is coming for a visit tommorrow.

One thing I noted though; she did not take any notes down. I remember in one of the meetings we discussed about surveyors or any visits to be covered by notes. Because we had a lot of turn over in the staff. And there is no way for the next person who takes over to find out what is happening in various flats. It is not complicated at all.

I watched the program whilst writing this, about our real past M Brag. I saw how dreadful the houses were in the 1930's. Yeah Mellwyn Brag makes do with a saying, "Decent housing is a basic human need, and that is progress." I love to see this Housing Association do the same, instead of saying "No SIR we don't do that." Yep we still do the old fashioned way.

Got the housing association to work on my flat at last. They decamped (move a person temporarily....new word for me) me to Weston Hotel and packed everything in my flat and moved the lot for starage. Time given 4 weeks.

Came back from my nice holiday in the sea side. By the way Weston is a for one's failing sex life. Don't want to write about it, but it will be mentioned in my own private musings. The walls were still wet from the painting and some paint already peeling off. But overall it is not a bad job. The builders used the floor as a cement mixing area and the whole place is dusty. I wake up in the morning with noseful of dust. Very healthy. They needed more time. There will be more work done on parts of the chimney breast later....Doh!.

After two months I am struggling with unpacking. Boxes which should have gone to bedroom is in the living room, and I have no idea what is in most of the boxes, except the those I packed myself. Most of the stuff will have to go in the attc sapce, but with my disability it is impossible. I cannot get someone to help me in one go as I do not know which  goes in the attc until I open and peruse. Da Da Da dee dee.

Wars are too profitable for us to let you stop them.” And the mere president has to say, “Yes, Sir!”

How To Make A country Poor

So how does it work:

First the World Bank (WB) lends money to say Haiti. Then Haiti has to pay back the money plus a hefty interest on it. For some reason if Haiti cannot pay the interest then H has to borrow the money from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The thing is IMF will not just lend money, they ask the government of H to do something called Structural Adjustment Program (SAP).

This SAP is to do with changing laws of the country. It has to grant tax breaks to transnational corporations, reduce wages, reduce the protection of local enterprises from foreign imports and foreign takeovers and privertize the countries economies eg. selling at a scandalously low prices their state owned mines, railroads and utilities like water, gas, and electrics to private corporations. On top of that H will have to open out the forests to clear for strip mining, transportation networks for the mines without due regard to the ecological damage. The health, education, transportation and food in the country suffers from cutbacks to save money for the IMF and WB loans and interests.

When the foreign imports glut the market the local produce has no competition. As the iMF rules that the government of H cannot give subsudies to the local farmers and countries like US gives it's farmers 70% subcidies the products which are imported cost far less money than the local products, eg. Ghana and its rice vs American rice. So the local farmers have to look for work elsewhere and migrate to the towns and cities. On top of the legal reduction of wages there is a work force hungry for work and the multinational corporations make use of this without mercy.

For the US companies like Disney, Wal-Mart, and J.C. Penny get a tax concessions and relocation expenses at the cost to the tax payers in US. And US has refused to sign the international convention for the abolition of child labor and forced labor helping these money grabbers, to use children as young as 12 years who work long hours and without insuarence against injuries, with impunity. Well that is how I understand it. It is so simple I cannot understand people like Blair and Brown does not do anything about it. Of course the rich countries get richer from this process and I should not complain as my benefits come from that shit!

Horse new Findings

This is about the horse, and what i did not know.

In evolution going back to fossil records, 65 million years ago, the horse had three fingers all touching the ground. then by 55 million years asgo, the two outer fingers got shorter and the middle one got longer. so we have records of fossils going back to 45, then 35 and 25 million years ago. the two outer fingers get more and more shorter ultimately now there are two protruberances, where all the fingers meet in the hand.

17, 000 years ago the horses were wild animals only as a food source for human. Then 6000 years ago the humans realised that horses can be herded and trained to ride on.

For 4000 years, the horse was used to draw carriges and to be used in war fare. Like the dogs, the horses evolved with us, and can be justified to say that horses like dogs colonised us.

Of all the thoroughbred, race horses you find in the world today descended from just three stallions. These were in the 18th century, 25 generations ago. One noted, Darly Arabian's genes are found in more than 95% of the race horses today.

We been nailing horse shoes for the last 1500 years. The outer layer of the hoof is ok to mess around with but the inner layer is horses, while shoeing the horse.

So the foreleg has four parts. shoulder upto the elbow is right inside the body. very strong muscles. the the long fore arm upto the wrist has only one big bone instead of two like our's. Then the wrist upto the fingers is just one strong bone. the finger is another strong bone with the nail becoming the hoof.


The coffin bone (the last digit of your finger), is not attached directly to the sole of the foot, but hangs free surrounded by soft tissue called laminae. This means, everytime the foot lands on the foot, the half a ton of weight is transferred to the hoof wall, which is bell shaped and dapenes the force. The hoof wall is made of horn, which further softens the landing by stretching. The youngest cells are in the heel.

But when going up a slope galloping things go wrong. The soft pallate goes under and covers the hole. this is about being suffocating. animal lovers, good point to be taken here.

The heart is as large as, a bonney big size, 36d bra and 14 stone woman. Human athlete's resting heart rate in 40 or 50, and the exersize mode it goes upto 180. In Horse resting rate is 25 or 30, galloping goes upto 240. that means 4 beats a secondo! Thoroughbred's heart is 10% bigger than other breads. Phar lap the famous horse had twise the size of normal horses.

Then comes the spleen, admirably large and gorgeous. No not to eat but to look at it. When the Horse is resting some of the red blood cells go into the spleen. when galloping the spleen sqeezes the cells into circulation. so a large heart will have to go with a large spleen in a race horse. So it dopes itself in flight.

Back leg has 25 k muscles on each side. These muscles pulls the leg and forward 140 times a min, and propels itself at over 40 miles per hour.

Recently a boffin in Dublin has isolated the gene which makes the Horse sprint or have stamina. the Animal Lovers will love this. Now the Horse can be selected for the right type of race. Yeah I agree with that. Horse will not have come to this in the evolution without a helping hand from the human. How many people get paid a decent amount of money every year, so that they can bring a family up due to Horse?

Finding a winner though is still a mystery.

now the question is; how long does it take the po-lice to find out which gun it came out?

Wikpedia on duggan says "Mark Duggan, a 29-year-old man, was shot on 4 August 2011 by police attempting to arrest him in Tottenham, London, England, following a surveillance operation, on suspicion of a planned revenge attack following the fatal stabbing of his cousin."

yep the demo happened in the evening of 6th. Thats two days. Is this a ploy by the Po-Lice to get more funding? Thats a question everyone should ask the scammy politicians.

Human Feelings

I have no proof about this. I have an over 50% belief in telepathey. In mass telepathy there is similar. Think of telepathy, in a person, as an energy which makes waves in the electromagnetic surroundings which expands into further a field. If it strikes resonance with another wave it can expand with a lot of more power than the original. It can get lost in the way, when either person change the thinking tracts. But in mass thinking it can be different, as more and more people think about the same, the resonance can take more power,

I am typing this as I am watching the formula one. The case is Hamilton's loosing streak. He won in a remarkable seoson. He is a bloody good driver. When he won the championship he forgot about Britain and moved to Switzerland. He forgot all about the way Britain looked after him and nurtured him. That is what lots of F1 lovers in Britain feel. I might be mistaen about this, but the telepathic power of people as a whole can make things harder for you.

Birth Of Me

There was i( We call it i) as a part of the anti-matter. It is more or less same as the matter but we do not have a solid form. Then a wave called a thought came in the anti-matter which made i to do a miraculous thing. Anti-mattter mass in the whole known (seen) and unknown universe, is connected and communicate with eack other as if one to one. The material world, as we know, is the same; but only very few know how to communicate.

So i selected that ovum in my mother's womb and the sperm from my pater and become one cell. Da Da Da Dee doooo. A miracle as all the religious boffins say.

THen the one cell: as i was strong and still riding the original anti-matter thought, divided by the binary system. Yep 1 into 2 then to 4, 6 etc.

See here I am. it is not i anymore but I. Father, son and the ghost. Yes the father who created myself; the son who is I, and the ghost who will be the memory of myself. To myself I feel no differences in the three forms as it is I. But to an outsider I am the trinity of I.

Jesus Buddha etc had the same thought as I.

Happiness

Happiness is not laughing out loud. When someone skids on the iced pavement and fall people laugh out loud.

I am not saying laughing is not happiness.

Happiness is not measured by boffins to let us know that we are happy.

Happiness is not to be contended either, as I might be contented in getting a measly sum as wages for the work I do. But Am I happy?

It is a beautiful feeling I feel now as I am writing this, as I feel happy. That has nothing to do with anything.

May be one day when I am dead and Gone I might be able to disconnect myself from all this and write to you.

Problems

I always seems to be having problems. Then I got paranoid. Is it me? Are others suffer from the same affliction?

I have friends who come around for a chat. I realised that, smetimes we just talk thrugh, whatever problems my friend has. So when my friend tell me about smething, and wait for a reply, I give it a few seconds and ask my friend, "Is that a problem?". And then, when the answer is yes; we talk the way throughit if we can.

So I realised that other people have problems. If we talk r think abut a problem we are not ding anything about it. So we are just mulling the problem over.

The Mediterranean Union is a political, economic, and security entity. It is also complemented at the military level by NATO’s Mediterranean Dialogue. The events leading to the formal declaration of the Mediterranean Union follow the same patterns that were used to expand the European Union and NATO in Eastern Europe.

The Union of the Mediterranean is meant to entrench the Mediterranean and the Arab World into the orbit of Washington and the European Union. It is also a bridgehead into Africa. The project calls for economic integration, massive privatization, and harmonization of policies. It is a colonial project and it serves to control and exploit the pools of labour in the Southern Mediterranean for the European Union. In the future, this can be used to upset the labour market in Asia and other regions. Also, it is through the Mediterranean Union that the immigration and refugee laws being used to manage the influx of people from North Africa were created. The E.U. was expecting these events and its members clearly spell this out when they made these laws.

Mohamed ElBaradei, the Nobel Peace Prize recipient who spent 12 years at the IAEA, told investigative journalist Seymour Hersh, “I don't believe Iran is a clear and present danger. All I see is the hype about the threat posed by Iran.”

El Baradei, who is now a candidate for the presidency of Egypt, added, “The core issue is mutual lack of trust. I believe there will be no solution until the day that the United States and Iran sit down together to discuss the issues and put pressure on each other to find a solution.”

El Baradei's remarks are contained in an article by Hersh titled “Iran And The Bomb,” published in the June 6th issue of The New Yorker magazine.

A Story Middle East

I watched egyptians coming to the streets and getting the Western puppet out of the kingship applause I reckoned.

Then Lybia erupted. All the Western pundits are shouting for a no fly zone etc. But none of them stopped to check the difference. In Egypt it was a popular uprising, by common people. In Lybia it was generated by the NATO long before and the common people were not inbolved only the puppets of the old king who was deposed by Gadaffi and his clan. You can see it from the start. It was a very few people in Tripoli and most of them went back home when things went a bit tough. There was no passion. Only in Benghazi it is shown to be popular. But I really think there is not many people who are against Gaddaffi, out of the million. Huh wait.

Now I am very sure about the instigators of this Libyan revolution. It is very complicated like the Afghanistan liberation fron the Soviets.

As usual US and us in UK find the Libyan terrorists and give them safe havens in UK and US. Then we train them and send them back to Libya. Some of them are Al Quaeda operatives from Afghanistan and Bosnia. Its a dangerous game we are playing. If we get rid of Qadaffi and then the opposition leaders who take over can be far more Anti west than Qadaffi himself.

A new phase of the war is unfolding leading to a process of military escalation as well as the eventual landing of US-NATO commandos on Libya's shores.

An unprecedented deployment of naval power in the Mediterranean is occurring.

On June 1st, the member states of the Atlantic Alliance (NATO) meeting in Brussels decided to "renew the mission", namely extend the war on Libya, "for another 90 days to late September".


Since the beginning of the war on March 19, more than 10,000 sorties have been conducted. NATO acknowledges a total of 9036 sorties, including 3443 strike sorties over a two month period, (March 31, 2011-May 31, 2011).

Military operations are no longer limited to a high altitude bombing campaign, where strike targets are "pre-approved" and planned in advance. The deployment of helicopters and low altitude air operations are envisaged. The latter are to support the deployment of US-NATO commandos and rebel forces on the ground.


What is unfolding is an escalation of military operations, which at the same time is leading to a protracted war.

Dear Mr. Medvedev and Vladimir Putin,

You said that citizens of the former Soviet Union were destined to become today citizens of different Slavic CIS countries – Ukraine, Belarus and Russia.

Despite this, we all believe that it is Russia as successor to the USSR, which is our SOLE safeguard for the interests of our countries and the security of our citizens. Therefore, we appeal to you for help and justice.

XU JINGJING: What is your analysis on the U.S. and the military alliance’s actions in the first ten days of the war in Libya?

NAZEMROAYA: The actions in the first ten days of the war were never meant to protect civilians. The military operations have been offensive in nature and a means to weaken Libya as an independent state. I mentioned earlier that I listened to the testimony of Admiral Stavridis to the U.S. Armed Services Committee in Washington and I would like to refer to it again. At the hearing both Admiral Stavridis and Senator McCain both unwittingly stated that sanctions and no-fly zones do not accomplish anything. This is very profound. If these actions do not accomplish anything, then why did the U.S. push for them to be imposed on the Libyans? The answer is that the operation is not of a humanitarian nature, it is an act of aggression meant to open the door into Libya and Africa for a new colonial project.

Mahdi Darius Nazemroaya specializes on on the Middle East and Central Asia. He is a Research Associate at the Centre for Research on Globalization (CRG).

There were two others: Afghanistan and Iraq, but they were gobbled up by the international banking system within a heartbeat of the invasions.

Whilst many respected oil experts have argued that since so many western energy companies operate in Libya, this is not about oil, there are some points worth pondering. All companies operating in Libya must have Libyan partners, entitled to 35% of profits.(iv) Trading is via the Libyan Central Bank, in the Libyan Dinar, not US$s. The Libyan Central Bank is also independently outside the IMF and the World Bank.

Not only a demonization campaign against the Libyan leader, but every form of fraud and propaganda is being used to push for this intervention, including a supposed "vote" by the Arab League supporting the latest U.N. resolution. Left unsaid is the fact that only 11 of the 22 members of the League even attended the meeting, which was held behind closed doors. Two of these 11 attending members, Syria and Algeria, made clear that they were completely opposed to military intervention in Libya.

I. Who Are the Libyan Opposition

1) Historically:

"If Muammar Al Gaddafi behaved paranoid, it was for good reason. It wasn't long after he reached the age of 27 and led a small group of junior military officers in a bloodless coup d'état against Libyan King Idris on September 1, 1969, that threats to his power and life emerged - from monarchists, Israeli Mossad, Palestinian disaffections, Saudi security, the National Front for the Salvation of Libya (NFSL), the National Conference for the Libyan Opposition (NCLO), British intelligence, United States antagonism and, in 1995, the most serious of all, Al Qaeda-like Libyan Islamic fighting group, known as Al-Jama'a al-Islamiyyah al-Muqatilah bi-Libya. The Colonel reacted brutally, by either expelling or killing those he feared were against him."3

The world is facing a very unpredictable and potentially dangerous situation in North Africa and the Middle East. What began as a memorable, promising, relatively nonviolent achievement of New Politics - the Revolutions in Tunisia and Egypt - has morphed very swiftly into a recrudescence of old habits: America, already mired in two decade-long wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and sporadic air attacks in Yemen and Somalia, now, bombing yet another Third World Country, in this case Libya.

Largest Military Undertaking since the Invasion of Iraq

A military operation of this size and magnitude, involving the active participation of several NATO member and partner countries is never improvised. Operation Odyssey Dawn was in the advanced stages of military planning prior to the protest movement in Egypt and Tunisia.

Public opinion was led to believe that the protest movement had spread spontaneously from Tunisia and Egypt to Libya.

The armed insurgency in Eastern Libya is directly supported by foreign powers. Rebel forces in Benghazi immediately hoisted the red, black and green banner with the crescent and star: the flag of the monarchy of King Idris, which symbolized the rule of the former colonial powers. The insurrection was also planned and coordinated with the timing of the military operation. It had been carefully planned months ahead of the protest movement, as part of a covert operation.

US, British special forces were reported to be on the ground "helping the opposition" right from the outset.

What we are dealing with is a military roadmap, a timeline of carefully planned military and intelligence events.

The real objective of "Operation Libya" is not to establish democracy but to take possession of Libya's oil reserves, destabilize the National Oil Corporation (NOC) and eventually privatize the country's oil industry, namely transfer the control and ownership of Libya's oil wealth into foreign hands. At the same time there was a Jewish judge and prophet called Samual who was responsible for the anointment of Saul as the King of Israelites. But he felt Saul was not very religious. So he was looking for the next king. And he found David. Rest is easy as David became the king who was supposed to have made the United Kingdom Of Israel by pacifying the clans of Judah and Israel.

So Jews have been digging the Palestine area for 150 years trying to find out more about King David through science ie. archeology. The debate is on. Depending whome you ask all are different. There are Zionists who believe in an Israel Empire yep you got it called United Kingdom.

Special Needs

At the moment the Gov is thinking about people with Special Needs.

When I was in the Foundation year in UWE....ooops Bristol Polytechnic it was called then.... There was a Matey (call him Matey as I don't want to ridicule him) who used to drink a lot. He was a lad came from outskirts of Bristol but always on time. He was keen.

He used to make fireworks. "No crime in that ", one cries out. Yep you be right of course.

One day in summer, he was transporting his fireworks in the back of his mini and a spark from his ciggie lit the fireworks and everything exploded, allegedly according to him. Now he is deaf....ooops sorry hard of hearing. So now he got a woman who makes the signing in front of our class. All the frigging classes.

No wonder I dropped out.

Any way Matey told me he got lots of money as he was in Special Needs. Yeah I am talkings few grands worth. He had to submit few reciepts to say that he had special classes. Thats all. I think few of us signed the reciepts for a drink. He said everyone is doing it. Guess what? He passed all his exams. Yeah bloody right as he had one extra hour than us. And he started working for the MOD. Well if he is not there he must be working for someone who blows things up.

Spider With Tools

I know I been harping about the animals are intelligent etc. Now this one is a new one on me.

I watched in the David attenboror's Documentary about Madagascar; that a spider finds an empty shell on the beech and with it's web drags it into the cover of the bush. Then it alines it so that it does not swing due to the wind. Crawls into it, out of the bloody heat. Gosh thats ingenious. They filmed the first spider. He could not properly aline it against the wind and it began to spin around. Second one got it exacetly right. happiest day of my life. watching that!

I bin watching the revolution take place in Egypt, with the view, that it will have a ripple effect to affect us in UK.

From the first; the western TV media, as I do not have much daily dose of news from others, has been thinking that they can make the movement to divert according to their advisory boffins. Cor blimey every time the movement and the government of Egypt made different moves. Uncanny really.

I love the way Obama, Hillary, Cameron etc made there comments this way and that way to accomodate a middle ground about the affair. I loves it just listening to all these boffin buggers say Mubbarak is going to step down and then he makes a speech, with "Piss off I am going to stay."

I feel a lot about the appathy of the normal young Egyptians. I wish them well and hope they have the integrity and patience to get a better government in Egypt.

This is good, in the sense that, it opens the eyes of the people of this world to the horrible way US treat other countries by putting corrupt heads of governments with School Of America graguates in the top ranks of Military. tunisia, Egypt, Soud Arabia, Burma, etc etc. One day we will have proper democracy all over the world including UK and US.

Tar Sands Oil Industry

In the 1980.s there was a real outburst from the people who cared about animals , that fur trade is bad. i was involved in the demonstration. I truely believed in that. Blimey was I blind.

When we all cramped down on the Fur trade, indians in Canada lost their lively hood. They gave their land and stopped their objection for the Oil company's intention of extracting oil out of tar sands.

the extraction of oil from tar sands use one barrel of oil for two barrels of oil. Since the price of oil has gone up this is viable economically. But the amount of CO2 which is produced in this process is unbelievable.

This process generates two to four times the amount of greenhouse gases per barrel of final product as the production of conventional oil.[3] If combustion of the final products is included, the so-called "Well to Wheels" approach, oil sands extraction, upgrade and use emits 10 to 45% more greenhouse gases than conventional crude.[

Today's Wall Street Journal has a stunning exposé on a publicly-traded company called Life Partners Holdings. Are you ready for this? Life Partners creeps around asking the unemployed, the elderly and the sick (especially people with HIV/AIDS) to sell them their life insurance policies for cash. Then they bundle these policies into securities and sell them to vultures -- oh, I am sorry, "investors." Then the "investors" sit around and wait for people to die -- the sooner the better for the purchasers of these death bonds. The future of this industry "looks bright," chirps National Underwriters.

What is Traitorware?

Your digital camera may embed metadata into photographs with the camera's serial number or your location. Your printer may be incorporating a secret code on every page it prints which could be used to identify the printer and potentially the person who used it. If Apple puts a particularly creepy patent it has recently applied for into use, you can look forward to a day when your iPhone may record your voice, take a picture of your location, record your heartbeat, and send that information back to the mothership.

This is traitorware: devices that act behind your back to betray your privacy.

Perhaps the most notable example of traitorware was the Sony rootkit. In 2005 Sony BMG produced CD's which clandestinely installed a rootkit onto PC's that provided administrative-level access to the users' computer. The copy-protected music CD’s would surreptitiously install its DRM technology onto PC’s. Ostensibly, Sony was trying prevent consumers from making multiple copies of their CD’s, but the software also rendered the CD incompatible with many CD-ROM players in PC’s, CD players in cars, and DVD players. Additionally, the software left a back door open on all infected PC’s which would give Sony, or any hacker familiar with the rootkit, control over the PC. And if a consumer should have the temerity to find the rootkit and try to remove the offending drivers, the software would execute code designed to disable the CD drive and trash the PC.

Traitorware is sometimes included in products with less obviously malicious intent. Printer dots were added to certain color laser printers as a forensics tool for law enforcement, where it could help authenticate documents or identify forgeries. Apple’s scary-sounding patent for the iPhone is meant to help locate and disable the phone if it is lost of stolen. Don’t let these good intentions fool you—software that hides itself from you while it gives your personal data away to a third party is dangerous and dishonest. As the Sony BMG rootkit demonstrates, it may even leave your device wide open to attacks from third parties.

Traitorware is not some science-fiction vision of the future. It is the present. Indeed, the Sony rootkit dates back to 2005. Apple’s patent application indicates that we are likely to see more traitorware on the horizon. When that happens, EFF will be there to fight it. We believe that your software and devices should not be a tool for gathering your personal data without your explicit consent.

The Mysterious Geminid Meteor Shower

As the heading says this is a very mysterious one indeed. It has been first observed in 1800, where as others like Perseids and Leonids go way back viz. 36 AD by the Chinese.

The Geminids are a different story. The first Geminid meteors suddenly appeared in the mid-1800's. Those early showers were unimpressive, boasting a mere 10-20 shooting stars per hour. Since then, however, the Geminids have grown in intensity until today it is one of the most spectacular annual showers. In 1996, the last time the Geminids appeared in a dark moon-less sky, observers saw as many as 110 per hour. Sky-watchers with clear skies should see at least that many this year if the Geminids continue to intensify. After the discovery of the Geminids in 1862 astronomers began searching for the parent comet. Most meteor showers result from debris that that boils off a comet's nucleus when it passes close to the sun. This debris orbits the sun along with the comet, forming a thin, elongated stream of meteoroids that become shooting stars when they hit Earth's atmosphere. Years of searching proved to no avail until finally, in 1983, NASA's Infrared Astronomical Satellite discovered a curious object moving in the same orbit as the Geminid meteoroid stream. The orbital match was so good that it had to be the source of the debris, but to the surprise of many it wasn't a comet. The source of the Geminids was apparently a rocky asteroid.

3200 Phaethon, as the asteroid is now known, is in a highly elliptical 1.4 year orbit that brings it within 0.15 AU (astronomical units) of the Sun. It made its closest recent approach to Earth in December 1997 when it passed within 0.31 AU of our planet.

So I was very excited about this as early as August as I missed the meteor showers then. My friend Alice told me about another friend Pete who lives in Priddy, and we can go there to watch it. I as usual went ahead with looking at the weather predictions by our UK Met office. According to them Priddy will have cloud cover. But we all decided to go there on 13th Monday evening.

Three of us viz. Alice, Vicky and me started the journey from Bristol and it was an uneventful one except we were joking about everything under the sun including my predictions. Of course it was cloudy during the journey and I was vindicated.

Wicked place our friend Pete lives and we piled in to his smallish but nice flat in Priddy. got ourselves settled in and as usual all the alcohol etc came out for our consumption. Well nice bit of ganga didn't go amiss with me as usual.

Kim another friend joined us later and after another hour or so we decided to go up this hill which is behind his adobe. Well as hills go it was all uphill. It was very difficult for me due to my problems with my pain ridden back. But I took a wee bit of Speed to kill my pain and it bloody worked. But my breathlessness was quite prominant and all can hear my laboured breathing.

Now the weather man was all wrong and the sky was clear and quater moon was prominant in the western sky. Alice joked about my predictions and my thoughts were, "Thank god she didn't listen to me." Aha aha!

By the time we traipsied frozen muddy fields and started climbing the hill. Yes another hill won't kill me but I will endure it with lots of huffing and puffing, And Alice as thoughtfull as she is about her mates objected to go all the way up the hill due to my objectional lungs. But after a small confab and Kim's call, "Come on lets climb it."; and my exuberant feeling after the speed and me saying, "Thats fine I can handle this and more." we went up the hill.

As we started climbing the hill we saw the first meteor. WOW! Is the only feeling I had. Then as we climbed we saw some more and I counted four. I stopped about 3/4 of the way and lied down on the frozen ground as my neck was going into spasms. Others except Kim lied down as well. Cor blimey this is great. Orion right on top of us. Thats where the buggers come into our atmosphere. What a theatre. No problem about the ground as it was frozen grass which goes crackling as I move. It was not wet but I can smell the cow poo. Who cares when the sky is clear, a rare occurrance in our country. I saw two biggish meteors and I counted eight and another in the corner of my eye. That is a record in my puny life. Kim said she saw eleven, but then again she climbed to the top of that hill.

Little by little orion drifted away towords the north and misty clouds started from the periphry and we decided to get back to the wormth of the house.

Coming down hill was good but in the dark it was a bit tricky where to put your step. What a beautiful evening. Thank you; all the people who went there, and special thanks to Alice who organised it and Vicky who drove us too and fro, and Pete who accommodated us even though he had to get to work in the morning. And Kim ofcourse who had to fimd her way.

Front Line Is Here

I watch news everyday. Everytime I hear about a soldier die in Afghani or iraq, something inside me dies.

All the time I ask this question, "How many sons and daughters of the law makers (MPs, Lards & Lodies) of this country died in these two wars. None.

Hey I Was Told

Though my mum told me about these people, I was surprised to meet one.

I met this person who says,"Good night", to the TV person who ends the program wishing you and me the same. At first I giggled under my breadth but then the next time I did it loud like. But after a few times I felt, damn I am missing something here.

And in my adult life I was watching a game of rudby on the box with a mate. It was England v Scotland in the final of 5 nations. The Scottish kicker did not find the goal and my friend said, "I made hime do it." i did not say anything as my mum has already told me about these people.

How We Do Harm

I am concerned about the decimation of various cretures of the World or Universe.

I see Natural History episodes in the TV. The commentator starts with, "Here I am in Butan in the highest part of Himalayas and we are looking for tigers". Fine. They come across the tigers. Lots of them who were trying to get away from the hunters. Now the hunters like me are watching the program of Natural History. Yeah you got my drift. Am I, or you, are drifting. we are the guilty.

Please Natural History people don't let us know where these beautiful cretures are. I do not like my killers to know where I live, just like the tiger.

I have always thought that any being alive, amoeba to human, is equally adaptable to the environement where it lives. We are all alive and do similar bodily functions and have all the characteristics, no matter amoeba or human.

Innocence is No Defence/Under Arrest?/Former Jurors Can Speak!

Innocence is No Defence

In fact, being innocent is one of the biggest handicaps to the defence of an innocent person, because their ignorance of the system and how it works is used against them, time and time again.


For many people, being questioned in relation to a serious crime is not, initially, something to be afraid of. They proceed on the basis of the old maxim "I've done nothing wrong, so I have nothing to fear." What these people don't realise is that a police investigation does not, necessarily, exist to clear the innocent and find the guilty. It exists to allow the police access to enough information to secure a conviction. There is a big difference.

If the police have decided, often quite arbitrarily, on a "suspect," they will systematically gather information which backs up their decision, even if that person is innocent. Information, for example, pointing to other suspects, will either be ignored or discounted as "irrelevant" because it does not fit with the picture the police are trying to piece together. Indeed, in many cases, the "investigation" becomes an exercise in finding "evidence" to back up only one line of "suspicion", and other areas are simply not investigated at all.

Innocent people try very hard to help the police by giving them as much information, however small or seemingly innocuous, believing that nothing they say can in any way incriminate them, because they haven't done anything wrong in the first place. They will backtrack, remembering small detailsŠ. "I went from the house to Joe's, and then onto Billy's at eight o'clock." Later, they might say, "No, wait, I've just remembered, after Joe's, I had to come back here because I'd left my phone at home."

The first sense of unease may begin when the police start to question this "change" in the story. Why did you tell us you went straight to Billy's? Why didn't you tell us you'd gone home? Was anybody in your house to confirm that you went there? The only answer an innocent person can give is "I forgot," but the police won't accept that. Still trying to explain themselves, an innocent person may then go on to try to provide explanations as to why they forgot, digging themselves into a deeper hole from the police perspective.

Still, though, people believe that the system will, sooner or later, highlight their innocence, and even if they have become a little uneasy about the line the police questioning is taking, they are still fairly confident that someone, somewhere will realise the police are on the wrong track, and it's all just a big mistake.

Then they are arrested. At this stage, the shock and bewilderment are overwhelming. Many wrongfully convicted people can't wait for the trial. The police, they reason, have got it all totally wrong, and a trial will show it. When the evidence comes out in court, it will become clear that the police constructed a case against the wrong person.

What they don't realise is that the information the police have gathered may very well "substantiate" the prosecution claims. That being the case, questions will not be asked in court about other possible areas of investigation, or other possible suspects, because neither of those have anything to do with the case being tried in court.

Only when the foreman of the jury stands up and says "Guilty" do these people realise that no-one is coming to rescue them. No-one cares that the wrong person is in the dock, or that an innocent person has just been convicted. All that matters is that a conviction has been secured.

Innocence is no defence. In fact, being innocent is one of the biggest handicaps to the defence of an innocent person, because their ignorance of the system and how it works is used against them, time and time again.

Under Arrest?

We all know and recognise the famous "caution" -

"Joe Bloggs, you are being arrested for the murder of Jack Black. You do not have to say anything, but anything you do say may be taken down and used in evidence against you."

You'd think, then, that anyone who has been arrested would know they had been arrested, and would have the right not to answer any questions until they have a solicitor present.

Well, if the caution was delivered exactly as it's shown here, that would be the case. But there are two significant problems with this.

Firstly, it's rarely delivered as clearly, or as obviously. Often the caution is hidden within a whole bunch of "information" fired at the "suspect" (who probably has no idea he is a suspect) by the arresting officer or officers.
Secondly, many people who are taken into a police station for questioning "under caution" have not actually been arrested.

In Scotland, there are two circumstances in which a person will be cautioned, held and questioned without actually having been arrested.

The first is as a "Voluntary Attender." Most people believe, at this stage, they are witnesses, helping the police with their enquiries. What they do not understand is that they are already a suspect, and anything they say may be used against them.

Consider the following, from a real life case:
The police officer first explains why they are in the police station, saying they need more information about the deceased from her "immediate friends" and a clearer understanding of the witness's "observations at that time." It's all very innocuous, with no hint that the "witness" is in any way "under suspicion." The officer then asks the witness to complete and sign a declaration of "Voluntary Attendance" which says "I agree to remain with police for interview regardingŠŠ" and then "I understand I may terminate this interview at any time."

This might seem self evident - once there's nothing more you can tell the police, the interview will naturally come to an endŠ. won't it? But then, after all this softly, softly introduction, and after the form is signed, the officer states, "OK, in fairnessŠ it's a procedural thingŠ I have to caution you that you're not bound to answer any of these questions we put to you today, but if you do, your answers will be recorded, may be noted, and may be used in evidence."

Helping the police with their enquiries as a witness, you may believe the fact that it's just a "procedural thing" because the officer didn't say "may be used in evidence against you." There would be no point in obtaining information if it wasn't going to be used in evidence - it's the omission of the critical words "against you" that keeps the person believing he only a witness.

Weeks later comes "Detention under Section 14." Here the "witness" is told he is being detained for questioning. He is told "OK, you're going to be asked questions about the murder of X, you're not bound to answer these but if you do, your answers will be recorded and may be used in evidence." Once again, the words "against you" are omitted. This time, though, he is not free to terminate the interview - he must stay with the police for the full duration allowed by Section 14, after which the police must either arrest him, or set him free. But this is not explained to him by the police. He is still not told he is a suspect, and worse, he is not entitled to have a solicitor present, either as a Voluntary Attender or under Section 14.

He asks if he has been arrested and is told "No." He asks if he is being accused of the murder and is told "No."

Put yourself in that position. You haven't been arrested, you haven't heard the proper version of "the caution," you're not being accused of anything and you haven't been told that your answers may be used in evidence against you. What would you think had happened to you?

If you ever find yourself in a police station, helping police with their enquiries and are told that your evidence may be used "in evidence," beware. Your witness status has just turned to suspect status, and you won't even know it.

Former Jurors Can Speak!


It is illegal in this country to approach anyone who has served on a jury and ask them questions about how they came to their verdict. It is not, however, illegal for people who have served on a jury to talk about their experiences after the event.

Given that so many jury decisions seem to fly in the face of the evidence before them, the only way these decisions can be studied, and the underlying reasons for such strange decisions identified, is if people voluntarily discuss their experiences.

Any study of the causes of wrongful convictions must, of necessity, remain incomplete when researchers are forbidden to approach jurors, and also when police officers, people working in the CPS, etc, are unable to discuss their concerns for fear of losing their jobs, or breaking rules of "confidentiality."

Any researcher, myself included, can accept information which is voluntarily offered, and can, and will, assure anonymity for those who are willing to offer such information.Without it, we can never truly understand how our criminal justice system gets it so wrong, so often.

Also, our current system means there is no support or assistance for people who have served on a jury which has wrongfully convicted someone, when that conviction is overturned, or for people who have worked on an obviously flawed case. It's not hard to imagine how people must feel, discovering that they were duped into believing they were hearing "all of the evidence," or that they assisted in locking up a completely innocent person, yet all we can do is imagine, because, once again, we have no means of asking directly. Only if people in that position willingly and voluntarily discuss their feelings do we have any real way of knowing.
